I think Harvard cares alot about EC's than grades, since most of the applicants that apply have near- perfect grades.</p>

<p>Harvard does not care more about ECs than grades. This is completely false. For the vast majority of applicants, ECs only matter at all once the grades and test scores are way up there.</p>
<p>The majority of H applicants have the kind of grades and scores that would make other colleges leap to admit them. Consequently, essays, recommendations, ECs count a lot as factors that will help H create a well rounded, diverse campus: These are things you have little or no control of such as where you live, what type of school you attend, how educated your parents are, how affluent you are, etc.</p>
