Does anybody know if I take a precalculus course at harvard ssp this summer, will i be able to skip a year of it in school?
I am going to be a junior next year and I really don't feel like i need pre-calc so i have been teaching myself and signed up for a precalc class at harvard this summer..

Do you tihnk i can skip pre calc/trig and go right into AP calc....I should talk to my guidance counselor right?

Some people told me you have to take the final for the pre-calc course at the end of the year

crazyazn, are you going to SSP this year?

and yes, if you take the pre-calc course and pass your final exam you will be able to skip it in school
all you have to do is ask for an official transcript (free) and show it to your school guidance counselor or whoever makes the decision there

It depends on your high school's policy. Each high school is different. I know that at my high school, the policy has been changed recently to become extremely strict.

No im going next year, this year I am actually going to China over the summer so I am very excited...Not sure about the professor of pre-calculus there do any of you have experience with srdjan divac?

bump....Did anyone take harvard ssp precalc with srdjan divac as your instructor?

.............and how was he?

I hope this isn't too late.

Srdjan Divac is a math teaching god. To overstate the praise for him would be to divide by zero. Despite English being his third or fourth language, he is more articulate than any person I have ever met. And if you don't get something, he can read your mind and know exactly why.

Before I took Math Ar at SSP last summer, I had no interest in math; now I plan to concentrate in it. I hope this doesn't sound ridiculous or overstated, but he quite literally changed my life.

If you're willing to put in a large amount of work, go for it! (If you haven't already).
