Harvard SSR Supplement

Hi everybody,

I have a question concerning the Harvard Supplement to the Common App Secondary School Report.
My counselor recently informed me that if he does the Report online, forms/letters sent via snail mail will not be considered (e.g. he cannot send the Report online but the transcripts via snail mail).
However, it is my understanding that the Harvard SSR Supplement is not available online (does not belong to Common App), so would that pose a problem if my counselor sends the supplement via snail mail?

Thanks in advance!

bump…

Most colleges prefer that all forms either be sent electronically or by mail not a combination of the two. If sending over the Internet poses a problem, it is best to fill out everything on paper and send by postal mail or fax.

Uh…that isn’t really helpful. SSR is already sent via Common App. How should this supplement be sent? Online? Snailmail?

I sent everything by mail, but that wasn’t my choice when it came down to it.

CommonApp includes your transcript, right?

No, i don’t think commonapp includes your transcript, the transcript should be in school report Part 2, which is separated the commonapp.

Ah - but it is online; you don’t have to send a paper copy also?

I would assume so since one college I applied to using the commonapp said they had all my forms and I never sent them a paper copy.

bump, anyone else?

My daughter sent in all her recommendations by snail mail last year. Only one school required a duplicate be sent.

The funny thing is that I do not believe that Harvard’s supplement to the report was prepared and sent. D did not provide that form to the guidance counselor but I guess there is some possibility that the GC did it on his own.
