Harvard school report p2 not submitted. How big of a deal?

I was bored and skimming the cc posts and just found out about that extra form I doubt my counselor turned in. Since it's winter break, there's really no way I'll get it in on time.

So how big of a deal?
I've already been accepted Stanford Ea so im not in a terrible position but I'd hate to get rejected over something so stupid like this.

From the number of panicked threads that have popped up today, I’m betting a sizable number of Harvard applicants don’t submit this form. I am apparently one of them. :/

But seriously, it is mentioned nowhere on common app, which colleges have to treat comparably to other application methods, and its damn hard to find even on Harvard’s website… they cannot possibly dismiss applications because of this. …I mean, right?

I gave it to my counselor to submit, found it at the last minute. But I’m 99% sure they’ll let it slide. At the very most, it is minor and no way it would be a deal breaker. Probably 1/3 of applicants don’t even submit it and I’m sure there are tons of kids admitted every year without it.

I didn’t use the stupid Stanford mailing labels, same idea. They’re not going to be that mad over something that is nowhere on the Common App or anything.

It is a required supplement. If you call them they are very adamant about applicants supplying them with this particular form.

Hey guys, this is pretty urgent. For the SSR Part II for Harvard, page 1 and 2 are the same as on the common app. So, can we just send in page 3 and 4?

And do we need to attach transcripts, etc. with this report or not (since the Common App SSR takes care of that already, right?)?

Thanks, I need an answer really soon because my GC wants me to let her know what to do.

I have not sent in this form, but my application portal says that all required forms have been turned in…

^It’s not required, but they would like to have it. That’s what I was told by a lady I spoke to.

I talked to a lady on the phone (before the break) and she said that I could send in just the last 2 pages if my GC had already done the common app SSR. However, is this wise/what people do or do people just do all 4? Also, if I just do the last 2 pages then do I still need to attach transcripts, class rank/profile, etc.?

All that stuff should be on the SSR on the online CommonApp but I don’t know if they still want that stuff. Is that just too redundant?

Also, can we fax it in? And is this the fax number? 617-495-8821
It’s the only one I could find…just wanna make sure that it’s for Undergraduate Admissions.

[Harvard College Admissions § Contact Admissions: Freshman/First Year](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/contact/index.html)

Yes, you can send in just page 3/4. No need for adding the transcript. It’s way too redundant. Remember, you want your file to be as light as possible. AOs don’t like to do paperwork and sorting, they like to read about applicants and figure them out. That’s why they do what they do. The less extraneous material and extra transcript copies to trash, the better.

If your counselor filled in the SSR properly, there’s really only two purposes- to encourage schools that don’t rank to give Harvard a rank, and to encourage a counselor to write a rec if he/she hasn’t for the regular SSR. If you’re international, it’s slightly more important, but it’s no big deal.

Faxing it is OK, but mail is preferable, because originals are preferable and easier to identify the authenticity of. Paperwork is coming in all throughout January, so as long as your Common App and Supplement are in, don’t worry about deadlines.

Also, ViggyRam, I hope I’ve cleared up the not sending the supplemental rec to H issue. Let me know if you have any other questions

You cleared it all up. Thanks Mentos!
