Harvard Supplement: READ THIS ESSAY, HELP ME OUT!

I feel so sorry for you :stuck_out_tongue: honestly

lmao thatā€™s the worst essay I think Iā€™ve ever read!
Iā€™m sorry if that sounds harsh. Iā€™m trying to help you.

Iā€™m all for having funny essays, and mixing it up but this isnā€™t funnyā€¦plus its not even well written, youā€™ve got to have a more clever approach to this kind of thing.

read that famous nyu essayā€¦its really funny but also really well written.

man the poor guy is just getting killedā€¦i think the opening joke about wikipedia really didnā€™t hit and just kind of turned it off for most of the readers, in all fairness i did think the caps lock part was kind of funny

but as a piece of satire it just totally fails

i would say the essay is TRYING WAY TOO HARD.
what i mean is you can definitely blend in a sense of humor, even sarcasm, at one point or two. but when you go all out for the entire essay - itā€™s like: oh well, you are definitely trying ultra hard, and I feel pressured to laugh - in which case, it will be difficult to laugh.

This is just plain dumb. There are like two places, that when placed in a good essay, could spice it up. Whatever it is youā€™re tying to do, it isnā€™t working. One Harvard student said, it isnā€™t necessarily the smartest kid who gets in, but the one who has the most passion for what they do.

Obviously thereā€™s more to it than that, but this essay doesnā€™t give an insight into any applicant. If anyone was admitted to a high caliber school with this essay, it must have been because the adcoms were bored of 12 font double spaced essays and decided to toss this one into the mix because it was different.

Orā€¦this is a joke :).

ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ? I suspectā€¦
