The only topic I can think of for the supplementary essay is "why Harvard?" Is that to cliche? Should I come up with a better topic and if I cannot, should I just not write anything?

I don’t think it’s too clich

Harvard is uh… well, Harvard already knows why you want to go to Harvard. Anything you say will be redundant.

Choose another topic. Give the admissions staff some levity.

don’t mean to hijack but I have a question regarding this as well:
what about a more artsy essay? Something that is more abstract but gives a little insight into the person’s soul, so to speak?

The artsy essay sounds great if you do it well. However, if you write it poorly, it could come off as somewhat confusing to an adcom. Make sure you have people read it before you send it in. Good luck!!

Oh, and does anyone else have some possible topics?

Thanks!
