harvard transfer

I agree Annie,

Maybe my interview is one of those 'inquiry' ones.....

When do decisions for transfers get sent out?

Not soon enough (by May 15th).

between may 15 and june 1-->really a bit torturous, actually.

grumble, grumble...
Annie

Are any of you guys applying to Harvard living in MA?

nope i don't live in MA.

Pokerman and Hi_there....i read that you both had interviews last year...did you both get letters and was it about an hour??

just wanted to know if there are hundreds they interview or only 20.

Annie, for you interview did your wear business formal or casual?

thanks!

I was just meeting mine at a coffee shop, so I wore some dark jeans (nice looking, not jeans-ish), a formal jacket/blazer, and nice shoes. so semi-formal??? I'd put it this way, not formal, but not what i wear everyday. I think i looked nice...

-Annie

I am masta.

When do you guys find out about Harvard? I got an application from them, but decided that it was not worth applying, since I did not have much chance to get in.

i regret the application I sent into Harvard, at the time I was so set on going back to cali that I didn't put a great deal of thought into it (partly because I didn't think I had a real chance) but the more I think about it the more I want to go there...how much will the sat's be weighted if I'll have 66 credits by the end of this term?

thanks for the fashion advice Annie!

;)

masta--different schools have different credit systems, so i don't really know what 66 credits means (for example, my school considers each class to be one credit, so I have 17 credits--4 per semester plus one extra) also, i don't think anyone knows what they consider important, though i would say your grades, sats, recs, ecs, and definitely your reason for wanting to transfer--but i don't think any of us really know the "order" that they look at these, or how they weight them.

newhaven04--thank you, dahling. (thought a little fashion would lighten it up in here). good luck!

-Annie

I'm just hoping that Harvard looked at my application, said We want HIM there's no need for an interview. Yes, yes, I bet you that's it.

I hate interviews w/ a passion! It always feels like I'm trying to sell myself to the interviewer, and I feel so fake.

Good luck to those of you...

I understand you exactly copper45 . . .

our credit system is 3 or 4 credits depending on whether or not the course is a lab course.

hey i had my interview saturday. it was at my interviewers house and i think it went really well. it was very relaxed, and lasted about an hour. now i guess all i have to do is wait till mid-may.

cool cool
did your interviewer mention how many actually were invited to interview?

the interviewers, from what i could tell from mine, really don't know that much more than we do--they're all volunteer, so they don't really know what's going on within admissions (or at least mine didn't). For instance, mine thought they interviewed everyone, which obviously isn't the case.

-Annie

I've been obsessing about my interview and the role it will play in Harvard's decision. Like the admissions counselors say I really can't imagine it playing THAT big of a difference (as long as you don't come across as crazy). From my experience, most undergrad college interviews go well for people. Similar to hakbar and certaincertainties, my reasons for transferring and the content of my application are not typical. I don't think the interview will get me accepted if I wasn't likely to be accepted in the first place. Does anyone else have any thoughts on the role of the interview?
