Harvard University Class of 2022 RD Thread

Also, all these threads give me lots of stress when you find out the prince of Persia was rejected even though he cured cancer and won 3 Olympic gold medals.

maybe the prince is bad at writing admissions essays…

I applied because my dad said he would pay me 100 dollars if I did. No regrets so far, most profitable rejection letter I’ll ever receive.

@Ebbie1 I’ve applied for Communications in Northwestern University. These two are my ‘reach’ colleges, though.

I’m also the junior world rank 67 in fencing and I know for a fact I’m getting rejected so don’t be too upset if you get that rejection letter

Hey quick Question , I just finished a new outfit do you think it’s okay if I upload it as an update since I already sent my arts supplement :)>-

@panian Northwestern? Nice shot! I wanted to apply there as well which would make 3 schools my reach schools but I couldn’t find my majors so I tried another school.

I hope you get in tho!

@nigerianfencer And just what if you do get in? How sure can you be that you’ll be rejected? Sometimes (Most times), this whole process is like going to a club to gamble. You legit don’t know whether you’ll win or nahh.

Congrats on your acceptance to UIC tho!

@Ebbie1 . UW-Madison was another reach school for me. I got in there, but no scholarships. I need a generous scholarship to go to any school in the U.S. Hollins University has given me a full-tuition waiver so far (for Creative-writing). Waiting to hear scholarship news from KU and the University of Amsterdam, where I’m accepted now.

When is Harvard going to release RD results?

March 28th at 7pm

This is my first and last post. I am not going to post too many biographical details as I do not want to be identified. But I interviewed a couple of students and I attended the school. Plus I went to a b school that is synonymous with the word b school.

Ahead of your decision let me just say this… If you spend 1/100 of the time planning what you will do in the first 10 years after college you will be better served than by going to any fancy school.

I just had my 25th reunion 90% of my classmates are doing jobs and earning salaries that anyone from any university could be and is doing.

Harvard and the b school are things I have to hide so that I don’t hear “why are doing this job after graduating from x and y” i regret wasting 4 years in high school thinking about Ivy league and 4 + 2 years of university education where again I was always working hard.

90% of CEO might be from Ivy league but 90% of Ivy league is just working middle management jobs and fearing being laid off.

Just do a major that will get you a job like computer science or something. Be happy if you don’t get in. I suspect many a time when a person saw Harvard + b school on my resume they tossed into the bin. Other interviews I could sense the interviewer was just interviewing me to say “I had a guy from Harvard begging me for a job”.

Forgive the many typos. My hands are too huge for smart phones.

I’ve always wondered how decisions are released… Do they program a computer to release it at a set time or does someone manually press a button? Anyone know? @skieurope

@MaybeHarvard2022 you can easily program when a URL to be displayed (kind a scheduling an event) as decisions are being made. When that time arrives you now see View Update link pops in your account. Sure there are more methods colleges are using, this is just a sample.

@MuezzinFromTowerOfDarkness
Harvard admits those that are highly likely to be successful. I advise some of those whom I interview that they don’t need Harvard to be successful…that they will be successful wherever they choose. But it’s also absolutely true for me that Harvard opened major doors in my career. Major doors. Harvard just has that brand.

It’s also very true that you are best known for where you went last. So for those that don’t get into the school of your choice this go round, take some comfort in knowing that grad school is more important. And doing well at a “good” college is far more important than doing average at an Ivy.

@ivybeenc thank you, your words made me feel a lot better! in the swing of decisions season sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of the big picture

the princess of China transferred to Harvard with a 80+ Toefl (120 for full). Luckier than the prince. lol

@quitpro Who on earth is the princess of China?

@Tony2055 The daughter of Xi Jinping, the President of China.
