@Ebbie 1 @Tony2055 Which program?
what time are decisions released?
@emily523 i think by 7pm EST, that’s the standard for all ivies.
Question for the people who got deferred. Does it still say on your portal that you’re early decision?
@Harvard2022maybe yeah at the very top of the portal it still says “2018 Early Action”
Is it true that people who are really unqualified for a certain school (like Harvard) could receive their rejection before March 28???
No
@skieurope yes they can
@jeffrandell No, they can’t. Doing so would violate the colleges’ agreement with each other.

Now is it possible that a school may call a highly influential alum before 3/28 and ask the alum to read between the lines with a huge wink to guess the final decision? I suppose it’s not unheard of, but it’s unlikely anyone would officially admit it.
@skieurope What I might was essentially a likely letter but for rejection. I know people who applied to Harvard and claim to have already received a rejection (for regular decision)
@LOA1000 Semantics, but the user specifically said “rejection,” the flip side being “acceptance.” An acceptance letter also will not come out before 3/28, but we all know that likely letters exist. I have heard of people receiving an unlikely letter (but I have not personally seen one in the RD round, FWIW). Having said that, just because one heard something from someone does not make it true. If people want to believe differently, that’s fine.
@Panian Business. U?
Economics
YES for certain schools decision letters (not likely letters) are released earlier per the link by @skieurope : https://admission.princeton.edu/sites/default/files/Joint%20Statement%20Final%2020160801.pdf
@Panian Did you apply to any other Ivy?
I’m specifically going for Accounting & Finance and hope to pursue a minor in Criminology or forensics(basics)
@skieurope that link says “As determined by each institution, admissions offices may choose to advise certain
applicants in writing of the probability of admission (e.g., likely, possible, unlikely),” An “unlikely” probability of admission would mean it will most likely be a rejection.
oh okay I see you’ve already clarified

Hey guys, Nigerian fencer here. I just want to let you guys know that a large majority of you will be rejected so don’t linger too much on this thread. Heck, I applied thinking that I would definitely I would get in but now that I have a full ride to UIC I want to take the time to remind everyone that they were talented enough to apply to Harvard. Because of that, you should be proud of your accomplishments no matter the outcome, cheers!
