@MaybeHarvard2022 well thanks for the info. Maybe they will still reach out - even though I doubt they will do so at this point.
Hello guys. I submitted my application on the 24th and yet Harvard has not informed me whether it has been received. Should I email the university or is it normal?
For reference, My D submitted Dec 24 and got a confirmation email same day. Last week she got an email with the name of the interviewer who would be reaching out. She has already set up her interview. I would call.
Just had my interview today! The guy was super nice and very receptive to all that I had to say. A couple of curveball questions, but other than that most of it was pretty much a conversation.
@WinnerWannabe What curveball questions?
@xxluvforeverxx He just asked questions like “if you failed out of your intended major pre-reqs freshman year, what would you do?” or “what do you think the score would be between you and serena williams in a tennis match?” or “pick a country you would least want to visit…then…now pick a city in that country that you would most want to visit.” Just weird questions that made you think twice before answering. He was very nice though! He made sure the conversation was light and funny.
@WinnerWannabe When did you submit your application? How long did you wait for the interviewer to call you for scheduling an interview?
Does anyone lives in Bay area got call for interview yet?
@Momojan I submitted my application before Yale EA came out. So like Dec 10 maybe. And then I got the call for my interview the day after Christmas.
@WinnerWannabe Thank you for letting me know. We submitted around 16th,not hearing anything yet. Maybe just need to be patient.
I had my interview today and thought it went really well (we talked for two and a half hours lol)
Much too early to be concerned regarding getting interviews - if there’s available alumni in your area, they will reach out over the coming few weeks, it takes time to send people’s information out to local alumni associations and for alumni schedules to work out. Especially if you live in a busy area with a lot of applicants (thinking of NYC, Bay area, etc. especially) it may take longer for them to get through everyone. Good luck all!
@Telluric Thank you for the words of comfort.
Was anyone else asked to submit their mid-year report on the applicant portal?
I uploaded mine ten days ago in the category “Academic Work” and it still says “Awaiting”.
Did I pick the wrong category?
I guess they are just busy and simply did not see it yet but I am a little worried.
@Kat1998xD pretty sure your counselor was supposed to submit it through common app. that way all your schools would receive it.
Correct; it’s the GC, not the applicant, who must submit the mid-year report.
@MaybeHarvard2022 @skieurope Thank you
My interview went great–my interviewer and I bonded over our mutual disliking for a certain political figure! He talked about how I was a very qualified applicant and I could be very successful at Harvard; however, being a realist (much like myself), he discussed how in my region, normally 0 or 1 candidates are accepted each year from a pool of 120+! Nice to throw my name into the hat, though. Best of luck to all others applying!
How does Harvard contact people for an interview?
Mine contacted me by email but I know some call students as well. Just check your email often.
