Harvard University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

We are sure that not everyone gets an interview, which has been stated many many times in this thread.

@ballin2022 mine is today too! Good luck!!

Hey all, I’m an international applicant from one of the countries with limited interviews. Are there any of you guys from any of those countries who have been contacted for an interview? I submitted my application on November 1st, and I’ve heard/read a thing or two about the fact that people from these countries who eventually end up getting in are offered Skype interviews with admission officers. This is worrying me because it’s been a while since I’ve submitted my application but I haven’t been contacted yet…

do any non-sports recruits get likely letters from harvard?

For RD - yes; for SCEA - no.

Did anybody get an interview from New Jersey?

Just had my interview, think it went very well. Nothing more to do now than wait, good luck everyone!

My interviewer asked me to bring a resume… I don’t have one, all I have is the common app activities list, and a brag sheet from a year ago. Any advice on what to put on the resume, how long it should be or anything like that? My interview is Sunday morning, so I have until then.

Hi! My sister is also an Intnl applicant this year. Where are you from?

Did your sister get an interview? I’m from a middle eastern country.

Nope we’re from Karachi and people say interviews here are selective so I mean it’s not alarming not getting one. It just means you’re not being considered it doesn’t imply not an anomaly in the process. But that’s hearsay.

@Tahir4321k This whole thing is hella confusing. At least from my country, I know that in the past application cycles, people who ended up getting in DID get an interview over Skype. That’s why I’m really stressing over the interview. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed for next week. Best of luck to your sister and don’t forget to update me on the interview situation!

what role do AP scores play in the harvard admissions process? I don’t want to submit any of mine, but are you guys submitting them? If you are submitting them, where are you submitting them because I didn’t see a place to on the application.

@mli701 You submit them officially after you matriculate to the college. However, there’s a spot in the Common App where it asks you to fill out your AP scores, unofficially.

@mli701 It is my understanding that the AP scores serve as a means to corroborate your grade in the class, and not much more. SAT/ACT and SAT II scores seem to carry more weight. At Harvard’s level, 5s and 4s seem to be expected. You could choose not to report (which I think you did) but doing so might be a red flag. (Again, take this with a grain of salt as I am just another applicant!) As for where you report them, the common app has a section in which you list your scores. That can be found in the “Testing” section of the common app. If you get admitted, you send an official score report to the College.

I self-reported my scores; I have 5s on the 5 AP tests I have taken.

i COMPLETELY missed the section where we were supposed to unofficially report AP scores!!! I submitted my subject scores and my ACT score but just assumed AP scores would be after we accepted??? do you think it would be worth it to notify them now, or would it just draw a attention to an unnecessary issue?

Hey @Tahir4321k, once again! I just wanted to let you know that I got contacted by an admissions officer today, and we are going to have an interview over Skype on Tuesday. I’m super excited!

@mli701 don’t worry about it.

How does sending application updates work?

@LOA1000 if you are referring to updates through the portal, you can simply upload any updates (I think)

“You may also use the materials uploader to submit any personal updates, notes, unofficial transcripts, unofficial standardized test score reports, or any other materials you believe will help the Committee understand your application more fully.”
