As with many things: it depends. What some call “internships” is little more than fetching coffee. But in general, I’ll pass on the parlor game of “Which is better?”
@MaybeHarvard2022 I am not getting redirected… has this been fixed or are y’all still getting sent to another page?
Unless it’s, as @jeff1622 so aptly put, I’m a ‘weak’ applicant.
After reading most of these posts I am just curious. My son: 4.0/ 4.7- 3rd in class- 34 ACT- 1550 SAT- NMF and NHRP scholar- EC’s good (not like most I’ve read here lol) Track and Field/Cross Country (and loves College Football) APs 4s and 5s the norm. URM Hispanic and Mississippi maybe? Is he inline with this thread’s hopefuls or below average? No interview, yet. Just wondering if we have a chance, lol.
@FSUdad93 I’m just another applicant, but the numbers you gave are definitely where they should be for any competitive applicant. IMO, and I think others will tell you the same, it’s nearly impossible to make any further prediction since we don’t know much else about him. Wishing you guys the best of luck though!
@habitualnerd what are you seeing if youre not being redirected to the applicant portal?
Dang you are anxious…
I feel I have gotten more anxious being apart of this thread than I would ever be if I didn’t know this thread existed haha. Best of luck to all but really there is not much to do but wait. Some of these questions are just going to stress people out even more.
Okay so a stress-reliever: legend has it that a kid in 2010 got accepted from my country without being offered an interview. The probability of this being true is small - and yet in that year 5-6 people from here got in, which is an all-time high.
I’m gonna dip until results come out. See ya on Dec. 12
Does it say invalid or ask for a PIN?
@Tahir4321k Was the guy/girl admitted without an interview the strongest applicant among the admitted students?
Since s/he does not work in Harvard admissions, s/he’s not going to know. I’ll go back to my earlier counsel and advise you to chill. At this point, it is what it is. We can all give out anecdotes, but ultimately, the plural of anecdotes is not data.
@nekanorneki and et al. I agree with @skieurope, just chill. I’m amazed you asked what the strength of an applicant was from 7 yrs ago, which would have been very confidential to the public. Remember the interview in the order of importance would be the very least of the criteria for admission. The AO would be finalizing their decisions likely the first half of this coming week, which is only a few more days from now. So stop wasting your mental energy fretting over things you cannot control. I wish you all the best of luck.
@noanswers I was worried because no current student at Harvard (from my country) got there without an interview.
@Hanna What are your thoughts on selective interviews for Harvard’s international students? Some suggest that interviews in limited-interview available countries or No interview available countries (adcom interview, in this case) are common among admitted students. In fact, I read an Indian Harvard student who went on to say that without an interview, there is no hope. But even with an interview, you might still get waitlisted.
In your opinion, is this process solely based on whether or not the committee wants more information or as a process to ensure that the admitted students are good human beings? If I didn’t get an interview (all the past admits from my country got an alumni interview), does it mean a deferral is heading towards me in the SCEA?
@nekanorneki Look, I get everyone is stressed about results coming in, but analyzing the interview process will not change anything. Please, please just go have fun—forget about results until they come. This is still your senior year and you should be having fun, not stressing about things you can’t change.
I’m with @LOA1000 … See you all Dec. 12.
I’ll be signing off as well… see y’all on the 12th.
Exactly 242.5 hours until the decisions are released. How’s that for some stress? :))
Guys, my mid-year report is marked as awaiting! what do i do? Because the mid year report is after semester 1 grades so I’m at a loss.
