Harvard University Class of 2022 SCEA Applicants Thread

Logging off as well before the thread goes dead silent… Gonna spend time on my other applications and hope for the best. Wishing all of us the best of luck and see you guys on the 12th!

@annav12345 as per the portal, the midyear report “isn’t due until the end of your first semester.” So it is fine that it’s awaiting since you are an SCEA applicant and you haven’t ended your first semester.

But it says that for EA applicant, keep them with the most current grades. Do you guys think it is too late to send my latest report?

*keep them up to date
And my new grades are even better…do you think it is too late?

My friend who applied ED to an Ivy is asking if it is too late to submit an athletics recruitment questionnaire at this point. I’m guessing as decisions are probably already made it is pointless?

I see the login page, I sign in with my email and password and I see ‘Welcome to the Harvard Applicant Status Portal,’ and I scroll down and see all the parts of my app that I’ve submitted, as I always have. Not sure what you guys mean by ‘redirected’!

@MaybeHarvard2022 @jeff1622

@fluffysimba Yeah, it’s pointless to submit something at this point lol

@habitualnerd They meant redirected to the applicant status portal.

@nekanorneki check out post #499 i made on page 34. there might be a reason why most admitted applicants receive an interview beforehand.

Do decisions get posted at 5 pm EST?

For an athletic recruit? Yeah, it’s pointless. The coaches have almost certainly reached their limit on recruits.

Signing off till Dec. 12th. See y’all then!

Have a good 12 days of December everyone! Enjoy the weather and other applications! see you all on the other side!

Good luck everyone! I’ll see y’all in a couple Tuesdays from now.

@asaltyattic I don’t think that makes any sense, though. Couldn’t it be the case that they don’t require any more information to admit an student? In that case, a so-called ‘4’ may get admitted.

@skieurope Oh okay, I will be sure to tell him. Also for a personal question; I play football (soccer) for my varsity school team and definitely would like to continue playing at uni too but I’m probably not good enough to be an athletic recruit. I mentioned soccer as one of my extracurriculars on my commonapp -would universities take this into account when deciding my admission?
sorry I know this should be in another thread…

How do you know that the official date is Dec 12? It just says mid-December on the Harvard page

They will consider it as they consider any EC. Ii’s not better of worse than anything else. As with any EC, a big part of it is what one gets out of the EC, not simply the act of doing.

Why is everyone so silent nowadays?

@nekanorneki I am slowly drowning in homework and am trying to waste less time.
