@MaybeHarvard2022 In which house @skieurope is? He’s at Harvard? Cool haha.
@cnlrfp December 12th, 5PM EST.
@ski_racer thug life interviewer LOL.
@brazos21 Making the decision bold and colored makes it easy for people to recognize when scrolling through the thread.
I guess my question was more about the use of the special word processing instructions. I understand the use of colors…just wondered if these templates were designed for a special type of text editors that read the instructions in the templates
Nothing special; they are bbcodes. They show up that way on the instructions so that a user can see what to type. As the instructions say, you need to remove the space, but if the spaces were removed from the instructions , you would only see the colors, etc. As an FYI, despite the instructions, which have simply been carried over from year to year, some bbcodes have been disabled from this site.
Yes, you are overthinking it. Etiquette does not require a thank you for a thank you.
@skieurope you never fail to amuse me with your replies. well done haha
Not to be pessimistic but don’t forget to work on other applications too.
@Ramaa lol I’ve already been accepted to two other schools
I went out and bought my son a Harvard Tee and sticker. I figured if he had the swag already it would make it cheaper for Harvard to accept him. :-c
You guys can be really disparaging of one another… whether implicit or otherwise. I need to stop coming here.
@Noahfireih Agreed. As helpful as this thread can be, a lot of the comments are overly aggressive or plain rude. I’m not sure what it is with the hyper-competitive culture here, but this is a thread for discussion and advice not condescension. Some may disagree but I think if everyone could chill and “remember the human” behind the username, we’d all be a lot better off.
I agree with @jswani and @Noahfireih . Also, can people stop spamming this page? There’s nothing you can do about your interview or your decision. Please don’t spam this page with a post unless it is of meaningful substance for everyone on this forum.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
Please don’t tell other users what they can and cannot post; that’s my job.
For better or worse, the various class of 20XX threads are amongst those where Walter Mitty type steam of consciousness is allowed. although i have been know to delete posts if there is a link to a countdown clock on every page. I assume that all Harvard applicants know how to read a calendar and tell time. >:)
@skieurope Out of curiosity, how do you balance your Harvard workload with being a mod on this site?
Just take out the spaces and pick your result:
Accepted
ok im not accepted i didnt even apply im just checking this out
Hey everyone! I’m an admit from last year’s Harvard Class of 2021. I just wanted to say good luck to everyone, and if I could give any advice, it would be this: do your best to log off and not constantly check this thread. Everything that will affect your decision has already happened, and there is nothing that you can do at this point but wait (as painful as that is). Please try to be kind to each other as well - everyone is as nervous and stressed as you are, so do your best to be empathetic and supportive.
To give you some perspective, I actually applied to Stanford EA last year instead of Harvard SCEA, and ended up getting rejected. It absolutely crushed me, and I thought I was doomed for all of the other colleges I applied to. However, I ended up getting into Harvard. You never know what the admissions process will be like, and it really is a roll of the dice. The admissions officers are simply trying to fill a class, and just because you don’t fit into a certain bucket at one school doesn’t mean another school won’t think you’re valuable. In the end (even though it may not feel like it right now), you will find a place that makes you happy.
Good luck everyone! I hope to see you all at Harvard
Hey guys! Just a quick note to say that I’ve been lurking on this forum for a few months now and I want to wish everyone on here the best of luck as decisions roll out next week. Everyone on here has worked so hard and truly deserves the outcome they desire. You’re all incredibly qualified and are going to go on to do great things. I’m crossing my fingers so tight for everyone.
Time management.
@skieurope Do you get paid for this job? And how did you become the Super Moderator?
Have all the likely letters gone out for EA applicants?
I would assume so. And if you’re not a recruited athlete, it does not matter, they are the only cohort to get a LL this round.
