@Dataminer Where did you find that Stanford would be releasing decisions on Dec 7? I thought it said Dec 15 on their website. I could be wrong though

@nijusohc That’s really helpful! It makes sense that they would consider achievements within their context - it’s really hard for students in rural areas to intern/start 'NPO’s etc. abroad (especially Asian countries) bc so much weight is put onto academics. I’m rooting for you too and hope we meet in Cambridge 
@skieurope That’s a relief to hear - I didn’t even mention it in Additional Info - putting blame on my environment didn’t seem like appropriate considering so many people are under more serious hardships. Thank you!

how does Harvard view IB Diploma Programme considering its much more difficult than AP because of the extended essays, IAs and other components?
The good news for you all, is that he would be considered a transfer, so would not take one of your spots.
As an aside, despite what he said, I don’t believe it. Nor does he need a Harvard degree (or any degree) to maximize his professional career.
who knows if he’s actually going to apply or not? Maybe he wants to delve into the academic world and learn about the world more. Maybe he wants to apply so he can be a good example for his daughter and fans. Who knows? The only way to know is let time pass and see if he actually applies and attends lol
@SwissMoustache from what I heard, they’ll look at you in the context of your environment and school. If your school doesn’t offer IB classes but you go and take IB classes from another school to challenge yourself, it’ll be respectable. If your school offers many IB classes but you only take a couple, you wouldn’t necessarily stand out in terms of classes. Besides, classes aren’t the deciding factor in admitting a student so you shouldn’t worry at all and shouldn’t rely on it if your ECs and essays are strong.
If he wants to set a good example for his daughter, then he should remain geographically close to her. Because you know that Kylie is not going to move her and Stormi Webster to the backwaters of Cambridge. (A) Her momager won’t let her and (B) Cambridge is inconsistent with her brand image. If Travis “wants to delve into the academic world and learn about the world more” more power to him, but there are plenty of nearby fine institutions of higher learning, including UCLA and USC, where he can do that.
As I’ve mentioned before, the only way the wondering public will know is to let time pass and see if he actually applies and attends. As for the “plenty of nearby fine institutions of higher learning”, you’re right, but Harvard also has its own name value and connections, which are arguably one of the best in the world and incomparable to UCLA and USC.
