I think I’m more nervous than my son at this point bc I don’t want to see him disappointed. The next 8 days can’t go quick enough!
@lilyfullford I know exactly what your school looks like But that’s really what Harvard should look for. And I think they are doing a good job there, by limiting the number of students they otherwise could admit from competitive schools such as Stuvy, TJH, or Harker. I wish they could limit more from Andover, Exeter, etc., but there are too many legacies or donors there.
It just takes me to my applicant portal, I’d assume that’s what it does for everyone since decisions have not been released yet.
@ohboy234 yea it just redirects me to the admissions/ harvard website page (admissions page with “you belong here” message)
All I’m saying is I would give my left arm to room with Travis Scott. Seriously. If anyone knows an admissions officer desparately needing an arm transplant…
I’m kind of surprised the decision date has not been released. I’m guessing it’ll be the 13th though, based on observations made by others in this thread.
@dreamthief001 yes that should be fine! as long as it isn’t an activity you’ve already mentioned elsewhere in the application.
@hgrad2010 congratulations. i bet Harvard began putting admitted students into the system. what was it you think that got you in?
@Robbyb I think you misunderstand; @hgrad2010 is an alumnus who actually serves as an interviewer
The wait is getting more and more painful by the day haha
He is applying to GSD, so that has nothing to do with us
I know these last few days of waiting can be painful but I have found that it helps and can make the days seem to go faster if you try to focus on one thing you are excited for the next day and build anticipation for that, not Harvard. Well, that’s what I do. We are almost there!!
I think it is healthiest to simply assume you will be deferred. Most of us will be, so it’s best to be emotionally prepared. Besides, if you’re rejected EA from Harvard, it is assuredly safe to say that it wasn’t the right place for you. Plus, not only will you have saved yourself 4 years of misery and possible crushing debt, you won’t have to tough out 3 or 4 MORE months of agonized waiting (against 2% acceptance odds–oof). So assuming you’ll be deferred is really the best strategy. I don’t even like to consider the possibility of getting in, myself.
@bruhinterviewme I completely agree w/u, but I’m unfortunately a hypocrite with my own beliefs. all I could think abt during my kinetics test in ap chem today was harvard and that baby shark doo doo song bc im going crazy at this point lmao oh how I wish I could sleep through the next week and wake up to a decision
Can they pull a Stanford and release decisions in 2 days. Waiting till next week is going to be so hard
@bruhinterviewme great advice I concur. It’s an honor for all of you to have gotten this far. My husband has started lightening things up by offering my son ? to go somewhere for free. Jokingly but not really…finish line is near!
My parents have joked about buying me a new car if I just went to Umass (joking of course) knowing full well they would still be saving a heck of a lot of money haha @nrsebayer
I just wish I could give my (hopefully) acceptance news as a birthday present for my grandfather’s birthday akfjasldkfasfk
@nijusohc lolllll I love that song but why is it so popular all of a sudden?!?
