Harvard University Class of 2023 SCEA Applicants

Has anyone had an adcom interview? US applicants? Internationals?

So… nothing? @skieurope

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading this thread for a while but 2 days before decisions come out I decided to join in on the action lol. Does anyone else have this weird sixth sense/intuition thing on how their life is going to turn out? Like I knew I would need to take standardized testing twice since I learned about it, for example? I don’t know but it’s really messing with me right now. They say to always trust your gut feelings sooo…

@lilyfullford does your financial aid on your portal say this: “Changes to your financial aid application status cannot be made at the moment. The form to request a change will be available again on Friday, December 14th.?”

@shehar17 yep!

@worldwide1 I had one on October 11

Also I just wanted to tell everyone some words I have been telling myself for the past couple of days. No matter what happens, just know that you’ve worked SO hard for this and gave your absolute best to this application, so at least you won’t regret that you could have tried harder if you end up rejected. Hard work DOES pay off - maybe not in the way you want it to, but it does. If you have worked hard your entire high school career, you will see a reward :slight_smile: Good luck to everyone, I am praying for you (and for me)

why do you think that changes cannot be made?

@summeramaranth are you getting a good sense for you LOL

^^to the financial aid form

@oRcHiD4 Uuu congrats! With an Admissions Officer?

@nijusohc actually, I’m almost 99% sure that I will be deferred. I never get anything big in life without working myself to death and suffering first, so that outcome seems to be the most pain-inducing and stressful. Rejection is too easy :slight_smile:

@worldwide1 Yeah she was a reader for Utah & Montana (so not one of my readers) but she filled out a form with a bunch of notes throughout the interview.

At the bottom of the page I saw four boxes with “A” “E” “O” “P” which I assumed were those 4 categories of ratings that have been widely covered since the law suit.

@summeramaranth That is literally me right now haha. But I totally agree that hard work does pay off! Getting deferred is meaningless in the grand scheme of things

@oRcHiD4 IMO that can only be good! Congrats! :slight_smile:

@summeramaranth LOLL nahhh have faith!! I’ll pray for you since we have an extra day to pray ; )

@“rêveuse” yes, it is! to be honest, I had a very unreasonable level of anxiety surrounding this whole thing. Yes, Harvard is my absolute dream school, but that doesn’t mean I can’t have an amazing college experience elsewhere. If you’ve worked hard and get it, then awesome for you. If not, then well Harvard missed out :slight_smile:

Holistic admissions. One thing out of context means nothing. It’s maybe a feather on the scale, but really, it is what it is at this point.

@worldwide1 Thanks but we’ll find out soon enough!!

Hey people did anyone else get an adcom interview??

@nijusohc aha thank you that’s so sweet! I hope if we both get in we can be friends. Too many people at my school try to tear eachother down instead of supporting each other. Although, I’m lightly regretting not applying to Cornell early after seeing that results thread…
