Both Harvard and Brown have offered me a spot in next year's freshman class, and I'm having a really hard time deciding between the two. I've been doing a lot of pro/con listing and all of that, but I was hoping I could get some input from cc members. What do you guys see as the pros and cons of each school? What generalizations exist about each one?

Very, very different types of schools and student bodies. I can only speak for Harvard and what I’ve heard from/know about my Brown friends, but Brown is a lot more…artsy, shall we say? Harvard students are generally type A, people who like to work hard but also relax/party hard during the weekends. Brown students are much more laid back. It all depends on what type of a person you are and what kind of atmosphere you want.

Brown has better spring concerts :-P

There seem to be big structural differences in how grades/requirements work at each school. I don’t know enough about Brown to comment on their system, but be sure you get to understand the way things work (both in theory & in practice) at each school.

EHS09 - I’m in the same position! I’m completely undecided. Every ten minutes, I change my mind between the two.

Brown! :D
