Harvard Visual Arts Portfolio

Hi everyone!

I’ve been reading a couple of threads regarding the arts portfolio, but I’m still a bit unclear about how it works…

1. Harvard doesn’t specify anything regarding a minimum number of works for a portfolio. Does that mean that they do not have a minimum?

2. Not sure if anyone 100% knows the answer to this, but about how many works are included in the average portfolio for Harvard?

Correct in theory, but I see no value in sending in if you don’t have at least 5.

Based upon the advice about art portfolios given on Yale and Princeton websites, five (5) would be a good minimum for Harvard:

Yale: https://admissions.yale.edu/supplementary#art

You should limit the work submitted to between 5 and 8 pieces, which should include at least one drawing.

Princeton: https://admission.princeton.edu/how-apply/application-checklist/optional-arts-form

Painting, drawing, photography and sculpture can be evaluated if submitted as 20 images formatted as JPEGS no larger than 900 x 700 pixels at 100 DPI.
