I am currently attenting Loyola HS and applied to HW to transfer in next fall as a junior. I have about a 3.0 and participate in a few activities and play an instrument. I never took the ISEE but had a 98 HSPT composite with at least all 90's in every category. I also did well enough on the EXPLORE and PLAN tests, receiving a 22 and 25, respectively. I am not dumb, and and although attempting to not sound like an a**hole, I find myself to be one pf the brighest students at Loyola, and I know if I put a little effort in I could get a 3.9. I am just complaicant and don't do my work but am changing that and want to challenge myself. Do I even have a chance? I also applied after the deadline so I don't know if that changes anything. I want to hear the truth on what my realistic chances are and any useful statistics or insight not on the HW site. I am from an upper middle class family but it would still be slightly difficult paying full tuition, so would it be acceptable to ask for 5-10 thousand dollars in aid to closer meet Loyola's tuition that my parents were paying?

As a parent of HW, I can definitely say that HSPT is way much easier than ISEE. Loyola stats is significantly lower level than HW. Bright students in Loyola will be ordinary students in HW. I don’t want to downgrade Loyola, I just want to tell the truth. If we call super students “stella” , I can tell ,HW is milky way. And HW regular classes seem like honor classes in other schools. I understand what you feel. But there are lots of students and parents who think about transferring school because of GPA and competitions in here. I suggest that you’d better stay at Loyola high and do best to get high gpa. That is the better way to get in better colleges.
