yes, another annoying chances post. i apologize.

Hi, I'm currently a first-year at Wellesley and I'm looking into transferring. Well, applying, actually, not that it's urgent that I leave, but I'd like to have the option at the end of my second semester. My GPA is a 3.77.

HS Stats
Type: Public
GPA: 3.8
Rank: 4/280ish
SATI: 730CR/700M/740W
SATIIs: 680 Literature/ 680 US History (I know, I know...)
APs: Biology 5, Spanish Language 4, Psychology 4, Literature 4, English Language 4, US History 4

I plan on writing my essay on growing up Greek-American/bicultural, because what I learned in college apps. round 1 last year was that diversity is prettyyyy important.

I'm applying to Swarthmore, U. Chicago, and Columbia (which I'm most nervous about and wondering if I even have a shot). Actually I'm really nervous about all 3. Advice/opinions? Please?

Pending good reasons, you have an excellent shot at Swat and UChicago. Columbia is the toughest, but you're not lacking on the stats or prestige of the school you are coming from. Give them all a shot - I don't believe any of those schools are impractical for you.

I think you have a decent chance at Swarthmore & University of Chicago. Columbia is definitely hardest of them all to get in...but try it out.

Have you looked into Tufts University? You seem like a good candidate for that.

And, what's your major?

Not really interested in Tufts, thanks for the suggestion though.

I don't have a very good idea of what I want to major in yet.

No problem.

Well good luck on the apps/essays! Again, apply for all 3.
