Are Harvard & Yale students very arrogant and conceited? If I ever got into one of these I'm not sure if I could swallow my pride and go be the caboose of the class.

I have a friend who almost got in a fight with a guy from Harvard because the harvard guy was making him feel like sh1t. I can imagine they are arrogant becuz lets face it, they ar ethe best. they were the best in their school, city, whatever.

I don't know any Yalies, but I know a bunch of Harvard kids, and they all seem like regular kids to me. Witty and fun to talk to, but definitely not arrogant and conceited.

There must be at least some jerks at Harvard, but I haven't met one. I'm sure they are not in any higher proportion than in the rest of the population.

all of my friends or among the people i've met who attend harvard and yale are pretty down-to-earth. they don't emphasize or brag that they go to the school they go to... well, except when my yale friend talks about the "we suck" prank to my harvard friend. stanford's the same.

I know a bunch of people from my school who will be going to Harvard and Yale next year, and they're all great people. They don't brag about going to those schools and are very friendly.

There are definitely going to be arrogant, self absorbed jerks at those schools, but I think most people there are pretty nice.

I think it depends on the school
so far the people I know going to H have been nice
Y has a sense of arrogance
the students from my school who have gone to pton have been arrogant, brash jerks, not like the people of the cc pton board :)

well, i could have gone to harvard, and I'm NICE

Harvard is a very humbling place. If students arrive believing that they are the be-all and end-all, they get a very abrupt rude awakening the first week, if not the first day. Whatever you do that made you such a hot shot back home, there's someone in your class who does it better. And chances are, she's smarter, too, and funnier, and also so nice that you can't even hate her for besting you.

You have to learn very quickly how to be content with yourself when you aren't at the top of the heap. It's a lesson that does most of us a world of good, and makes us happier (as well as nicer to be around) than we were in high school.
