I was wondering why most people now a days in society consider harvard to be the most over rated university. I personally think it is a great school with some up tight people but thats it. Alot of people especially at my high school think that harvard is for spoiled riich kidds, but I doubt this is true. So why is it that harvard is considered to be over rated??

Because its name overshadows its substance. I’m so distracted by the academic renown, that I find that I know precious little about their curriculum.

I would say when people on the boards call Harvard overrated they are referencing the undergraduate portion of the school. Generally because they believe the ratings are influenced by graduate schools rather than being completely based on undergraduate experience/education.
