***Harvey Mudd Class of 2020 ED1 Applicant Thread***

Seeing as today is the deadline for ED1, I figured I’d start a thread to talk about the applications. Who all has applied and where else are you applying?

I submitted my ED 1 Friday the 13th  Also applying to CMU, Caltech, MIT, UCs, UMich, GaTech

What about you?

Heyy, i applied Harvey Mudd ED also. Jes praying for the best. #:-S also applying to MIT, Swarthmore, UC-B, Harvard and WesleyanU. I really wanna get harvey mudd, dont wanna go through college application stress in January

@brightine, do you have any safeties? That is a pretty reach heavy list. Depending on your stats, Wes might be a match. Also, just looked at one of your other posts, it looks like you are an international – do you need financial aid?

@intparent yh actualli…got safety schs jst picked out the reach schs  for that post.
Yea…i’m frm Nigeria. And, i need financial aid. [-O<

I’m planing an Ed2 to swarthmore though…if harvey mudd doesnt work out…i’m jst hoping for the best. *my criteria jst simple really…small LAC with engineering or strong comp. sci. program aint too picky…buh tke post-graduation stats into consideration. Wes looks good but dia itz a bit of a reach 4 me @intparent

My D picked between Swarthmore, UChicago, and Mudd (all RD acceptances) a few years ago. She has been super happy at Mudd. Good luck to everyone!

Hello! I also applied ED.

I really hope I get in. I really love this school. I would be so devastated if I didn’t get accepted… My GPA is very low because of 9th and 10th grade though :frowning: I got a D in an Islam class lol.

Anyway, I wish you all the best! Do decisions get posted on December 15th?

@selectyour Good luck to you. I also applied ED 1. I hope we both get in  Decisions are supposed to be posted on December 15th, but I’ve heard stories of people getting their acceptances earlier. Don’t know if that is true or not.

Hope thanksgiving wont slow them down…most admission officers are resuming Nov. 30 :expressionless:

@tigerbookmark I hope that’s not true. So much anxiety haha. 2 and a half weeks!

I applied to my safeties early (purdue, rose-hulman, and G-Tech); I’m applying to Carnegie Mellon, CalTech, MIT, and Stanford in January. I really hope I get into HMC though.

@tigerbookmark and @selectyour My son applied ED 2 last year and results were posted a week early. They did send out an email to let applicants know when they should check the portal so no need to check unless told to.

(He got in by the way. )

Good luck to all of you!

@selectyour Yeah I know  But just imagine that the search could be over by then

@ClaremontMom Congrats to your son on his admission to Mudd! How does he like it there so far?

Harvey Mudd is need-blind for domestic students when it comes to admission right?

@tigerbookmark - He’s working hard, but also seems to be having lots of fun. He’s gotten involved in lots of new activities there.

@c00lbeans - Yes, they are need-blind for domestic students.

It’s been a while since I posted on CC. I love Claremont and have friends who live there. I am now helping DS research engineering schools. @ClaremontMom and @intparent do your kids participate in activities at the other 5Cs? P.S. Good luck to all of you who applied ED at HMC. The folks I know who graduated from the 5Cs had amazing (and happy) undergraduate college experiences.

My D did Quiz Bowl her first year, and has taken classes at some of the other 5Cs. She was really academically challenged her first two years, and didn’t feel like she had time for more activities. This semester she seems a little less busy, but is really happy spending her extra time on the two research projects she is working on and socializing with her dorm friends. She is talking about maybe taking vocal lessons next semester. She loves Mudd, wouldn’t trade it for anywhere else.

My S is just finishing up his first semester, but has found time to get involved in a couple of ECs (though I think they may be Mudd only). My D is a junior at Scripps and has taken classes at all the schools except Pitzer as well as gotten involved with lots of different clubs and organizations throughout the 5C’s.

We love Claremont and the 5C’s too. And since we live locally we get a chance to experience Claremont fairly often as well.

If the Harvey mudd financial office sending you documents requests continuously …does it mean something? X_X
