D19 (35 ACT/4.0 uw GPA) was denied admission - she was somewhat disappointed as it was a tentative first choice for her. An SAT subject test of sub-700 (for a subject she essentially self-taught herself) probably did her no favors. In any case, congratulations to those receiving good news via the portal!

I know a lot of other threads have people list their stats and such. so:

Reflection

Strengths: Statistically qualified, lots of expressed interest in music and math, plenty of extracurriculars
Weaknesses: Rushed essays, not as many “spikes” as I would’ve liked, bombed the Physics Subject Test
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: tbh I’m not really sure; it probably had to do with falling in with too many other applicants with similar qualifications and taking the unfortunate L
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: Accepted to Randolph College RD, University of Virginia EA, Johns Hopkins University RD, Differed from Swarthmore College, Rejected from MIT

General Comments: Mission failed, we’ll get 'em next time

@intparent Thank you for the information! I checked what “unranked” means and it basically said the same thing. I guess I’d accept the place on the waitlist tho
