I have an interview with Harvey Mudd this Thursday and I’m really nervous. What are the interviews like? What can I anticipate? I’ve never interviewed with a college before.
I think they are pretty relaxed compared to some schools. Be ready to talk about your extracurriculars, and what you like to do for fun. Read up on Mudd ahead of time if you havent yet. Try to have a couple of questions on your own to ask.
Is it at HMC? are you sitting in the info session and taking the tour? The interviewer will want to understand your interest in science and math, find out what you have done in and outside the classroom to feed that interest, and your other interests. They see how you might fit in at HMC. They also want to give you some information about HMC during the info session, tour, and maybe the interview so that you can see if the school is a good fit for you. The interview should not be too stressful - it’s not an oral exam, or anything like that.
