@ Artsyal

Yeah its not a bad school I just really want to be in So Cal. It is a commuter school, and I hear there is a bit of a lack of campus life. Thats what I have read. My friend goes there though and he loves it so I guess its a matter of perspective. Whats your major? I got in with Cinema.

@ imaan 87,

im pretty sure they are closed this week, which is probably why no one is getting any admissions decisions right now. check their calendar:
[Campus Closure Calendar](http://daf.csulb.edu/offices/bhr/staffpersonnel/furloughs/calendar/index.html)
otherwise, im sure more students would be getting their admissions decisions this week.

@pscholler,

isnt csulb a commuter school too? i live an hour away from lb, socal isnt ALL that. but it is near LA and some fun night life.
i got into sfsu as an art major, which i am not sure is impacted there, since there are sooo many other art schools in SF as well. however, both art and cinema majors are impacted at csulb.
u live in norcal? socal? what are your stats?

I am from Nor-cal. I’m aware that CSULB is too, thats why UCSB is my first choice. I want to be near LA because of the relation to my major(internships, opportunities, etc). SFSU has the cinema program without the production option like LB. UCSB only has the film studies program but it offers everything else I want in a college. Why isn’t So-Cal all that?
I have a 3.35 with 60 units and IGETC.

@pscholler,

socal isnt all that because of some of the snobby people, the traffic, etc. but otherwise is fun! I want to go to Csulb for their internship opportunities too… i hope the best for you! here is some info on impacted majors:
[CSULB Enrollment Services](http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/transfer_gpa.html)

i have finished most of the supplemental classes for my art major. i want to go into graphic design and/or animation. 3.67 gpa. i will have 60 units by the end of this semester. i really wanna get in!

Where are you guys transferring from

a community college about 11 hrs from Los Angeles :D

Anyone else still waiting to hear from CSULB?

What’s going on you everyone, I’m a transfer student who got admitted a few weeks ago for Mechanical Engineering. The main reason why I wanted to post this was because to show other students that Long Beach DOES look out for locals. For those who are in the same field, this was what I completed: Cal 1-3 / Linear Alg. w/ Diff. Equ. / 1 year of physics / 1 semester of chem / 1 programming class (C++) / all my GE. My GPA was a 2.8. Yes, I got in with a 2.8. Maybe because I attended OCC or I completed a lot of requested courses, whatever the reason may be, this clearly show that Long Beach does accept “their kind” before accepting out of state. I hope this post was informational.

@ aliefx66

That’s interesting… I completed similar classes:

Calc 1-3 / Linear Alg / Diff. Eq. / 3 years of physics / Statics, Dynamics, Strength of Materials /2 semester of chem / 1 programming class (C++) / all my GE.

Mechanical Engineering Major with a 3.4 GPA, live in Glendora…

hmmmm?

I tried to talk to someone in the admissions department today considering they haven’t sent anything to me since the transcripts email and that was back in February. Its been a long time. Anyway no one ever picked up, are they on spring break?

No, there spring break was last week. I tried calling yesterday too and it said call back at a later time, because the telephone line was full. I haven’t heard anything since February either.

@ elementX

I think you’ll be ok with that GPA! Where else did you apply? I haven’t heard from any of the UC’s yet but I did get into Texas Tech. Let me know if you have any questions. I’m glad to help out an ME student!

Why is CSULB taking so long?

All my UC admissions decisions are already out. Why is a CSU taking longer than UC to make decisions.

@ aliefx66

I applied and got accepted to Texas Tech too!! Haha! That’s too funny! One of my buddies goes there, I applied just to see if I got in…

I also applied and got accepted to UCI, Cal Poly Pomona, CSULA (for safety).

grrrr… the wait is really getting annoying. i wish they had a portal like sdsu and could just let you know as soon as it happens… sdsu had almost as many applicants and let me know the middle of march

Still waiting for Long Beach and UCSB I am going to try and call again tomorrow.

@ elementX

NICE! I haven’t received a response yet from any of the UC’s so I’m waiting on them. However, I do want to attend a Big 12 school and experience their big football program. I’m originally from Houston so that’s why I applied. Come on…let’s go there! RED RAIDERS!!! Ahaha…
