Hello applicants,

Did anyone get an admission notification from LB?
I live in Long Beach and pretty much everyone I know has received their decisions, but that could be because we’re city residents. Mine was actually a bit late because they needed to see my transcripts, so maybe check that they have everything they need from you.
My S was accepted for Aerospace Engineering. Love to hear some feedback about CSULB.
@Sammylynnm Great! do you know if there are any impacted majors at LB? I tried to email the admission regarding my application but I didnt get any response. is the email correct? es-admit@csulb.edu
i think it’s a great college! since you live there you may know more, any feedback on CSULB?
@Luthien congrats to your S! do you mind sharing gpa and sat? local applicant?

My chances to get in are almost 80% judging from the prepscholar calculator. You can check yours too guys even if it’s not precise but it may give you an idea

@dippledapper congrats! How did you find out about your acceptance?
@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 I know when I was waiting for my decision, I tried emailing that address and Gmail wouldn’t let me for some reason. They do have a self-service check that can tell you if they’re missing any materials, which basically sends you the status of your application in an email. It requires your Campus ID (in some earlier email) and your SSN/birthday. If you can’t find the ID, SSN/BD will work fine. I’d suggest trying that if you haven’t already.
I’m pretty sure all majors at CSULB are impacted. I have a paper from my counselors somewhere that shows impacted majors at all the CSU’s, and I think I remember it being impacted across the board. That’s likely to do with it being the most applied-to CSU (go beach!)
As for what I think of it: it’s an amazing school for a state school. The majority of my teacher’s got some sort of degree or credential from there, and they always talk about it being one of the best teaching schools. I have several friends that go there and like it, and from living in the area I can tell you it has an awesome campus. I do hear the dorms aren’t all that great, so you might want to try living off campus nearby if you can. Overall, I hear great things about all the majors/schools, so I give it two big thumbs up :).
Because it’s a state school with heavy involvement in its community, Long Beach residents will likely get preferential treatment. With that said, though, I hope you get in! Best of luck.
@Sammylynnm yes I tried the self-service check and it says they got my records and that I will be contacted when a decision is out. Nothing new. It’s been like that for a while now. I tried to email them
at : es-admit@csulb.edu , is there any other address I can reach them at?
@SweetCaliforniaWeather-12 Based on what I’ve seen online, decisions will likely keep rolling out through April. You can try calling them, but other than that, I’d say just try waiting it out.
@Sammylynnm thank you for the description, that was so needed.
For a state school, LB was on my list compared to the others. Hopefully I’ll get in. In that case, I will have to choose among CSUN, CSULB and SDSU (if accepted). Suggestions??
I got the beach pathways application thing and I filled that out . They said they sent that to me so they could make a decision on my app since they couldn’t decide and I’d find out my april 2. Anyone know anything about this program or anything in general?
My D was accepted to CSULB back in January. Does anyone know how we find out if there is any merit money offered to her? She has tried looking on the portal, except whenever she logs in it only takes her to her CSULB email. She found out about her acceptance so early because she was asked to apply for the honors program to possibly earn a scholarship for full tuition, housing, books, etc., but she decided against it. I’m just curious what the financials would look like should she choose to attend CSULB.
I was accepted a few weeks ago!
Out of State
SAT 1240, ACT 26
GPA 3.952 UW ~4.1 W

When I contacted the help desk, I have been told to check the status of my application with the self-service check. Still no updates for me. I hope I’ll get in!!!
