I’m from Brazil and I couldn’t travel to the US to audition so I sent a dvd.
I emailed the dept. and they said the video auditions would be viewed “around the two final weeks of February”. Anyone else sent a video?
I’m nervous, I’m from faaaaaar, I’m worried videos are at a disadvantage, and April is way too far =(

My D mailed one. We live in California and just couldn't afford one more trip (she auditioned for 13 programs). We were wondering the same thing. So, sorry I can't help, but at least we know we are in this together.

SEATA, while it is too late now, I just wanted to point out that Ithaca attends the Unified Auditions in LA where I know kids who auditioned who are from CA and didn't travel East for auditions. In case anyone from the West Coast is reading here, I thought I would point this out.

Soozievt, thank you. Sadly, we went to Chicago for the Unifieds because my D was in performance the weekend the Unifieds were in LA. It was a hard decision to send the video versus the live audition.

I'm totally reviving an old thread for this, but I couldn't find the answers on the website (maybe I missed it?).

For the video audition, which I must do as an international applicant, I know I need two contrasting monologues (1 min) and two Broadway songs (16-bar ballad and 32-bar upbeat). I emailed the school to clarify all this, but there was no mention of a dance component to the audition. Is there one, and if so, what must I include? I know the audition should be 4 minutes—is that including the intro? And is there a preference/specification in regards to the piano accompaniment; that is, live or recorded?

Ahahahaha, more questions than I expected to ask... but thank you for any help. :)

I would urge you to ask these specific questions in a follow up email and get it directly from the school and not rely on others here. Few here have even applied via video submission to Ithaca.

However, I imagine there will be NO dance required on the tape because their live auditions have no dance component.
