Has anyone been accepted to CSULB for Fall 2012 yet?

@RockyHorror Don’t be scared of getting rejected. I swear the stats at my school are all over the place. And I’ve heard of people with lower GPAs or lower SAT scores getting accepted. It depends a lot on the major, and in a way, it’s almost seems like luck with these random things. Pretty sure they probably have a quota for how many people from each given range of gpas they accept, just to keep their averages high after accepted kids from the area. I applied to a lot of schools, 13 total, so the truth is, I don’t know what my top school is! I have two reach schools, USC and UC Berkeley, and if I got into either (unlikely), I’d go to the one I got into. If I got into both (EXTREMELY EXTREMELEY unlikely), I’d go to Berkeley, just because after visiting both schools, I like Berkeley more, even though I like SoCal more than the Bay Area. After those two, I’d say it’s UC Santa Barbara or SDSU as my top choices. I applied as a business major to the schools who have it available, but I also really love Psychology, so for the schools that don’t have business, I applied as a psych major. Of course I would choose the majors that are impacted almost everywhere. Lol.

@jaythe65 You might still get in! It depends on your major. I applied as one of the most impacted majors, business. But it’s not ONLY your major, I feel as if it is quite random, so just don’t be surprised, don’t be expecting anything. I got rejected on Valentines day, for pete’s sake! You just. You never know. :)

coll234: Is CSULB your first choice or is it one of your backups??? I wonder if they ask for transcripts from freshmen too. I haven’t seen any sign of evidence of their initial review of my application yet. I’m sure you’ll get in though!!! :)

tatiana1190: Yea I know that I shouldn’t be scared of being rejected but I can’t stop. Hahaha. I haven’t been as worried about any other colleges I applied for except for CSULB. I visited UC Berkeley last year and it took my breath away. I already love San Francisco by itself but Berkeley just made it so much better. The architecture there is so beautiful!!! Hopefully you get it in!!!
Yea I heard that CSULB has a obscure admission system when it comes to accepting people with a specfic g.p.a or SAT score. I also applied to SDSU, too, and at first I was certain that I wanted to go there as my first choice but then I fell in love with CSULB because it’s close enough to home and far enough for me to develop an independent stature. Hahaha. Business major eh? Hahha, that is a great major since it can be applied anywhere! I am hoping to be an anthropology major though I will probably change it as soon as my freshmen year is over like most freshmen do.
If I do get accepted into CSULB, I hope they send the letter before March 1st… my friends say that I’ll get in but if that’s true then why haven’t I received any kind of information??? I’m a wreck!

Hi everyone! I was wondering if all of you transfers are upper division(<60 sem/90quarter)? Did they require you to send in HS transcripts as well?

I was accepted on the 10th.
3.6 CSU GPA
1710 SAT
Pre Film Major
Out of state from Florida.
I’m super excited for August!

@RockyHorror: I’m not sure lol. SJSU and CSULB both have very good Illustration programs. I guess it would boil down to which location I like better.

@carliecarlie: Hello  I’m an upper division transfer. I believe most if not all CSU’s are only accepting upper division transfers due to the state budget cuts (I could be wrong). Since I’m an upper division transfer, no high school transcripts are required (thank goodness!).

@CheyHH: Congrats!

coll234: Well good luck deciding! It’s a hard position to be stuck in… but I’m sure you’ll be just happy with whatever you choose. :)

CheyHH: Congrats on your acceptance!!! Was CSULB your top school of choice? Well anyways, I’m glad someone with a 3.6 g.p.a got in. I’m still waiting on any good news for my admission :/

Has anyone else heard any good news from CSULB??? Do you think they’re going to stretch the acceptance admissions out until late March because I think if they do I’ll pull all my hair out! :(

I haven’t heard any news yet, but I applied to an impacted major, nursing.

@STEPHWONG My friend that got accepted applied for nursing, so hopefully that means you’ll hear soon. Is CSULB your top choice?

coll234: Thanks!

RockyHorror: USC was originally my first choice but I ended up not being able to apply there. Out of the schools I applied to CSULB is my first choice. I’m sure you’ll get some good news soon, especially being that you are in state.

STEPHWONG: What is your g.p.a and SAT/Act scores??? Do you live in Southern California???

CheyHH: Oh, sorry that you couldn’t apply to USC. But I’m sure you would’ve gotten in. Well that’s cool that you are going somewhere you were interested in, so you must be very excited!!! Thank you. I hope I hear some good news soon too. Are you planning to dorm at CSULB?

RockyHorror: Thanks for thinking so! I plan on getting my Master’s there in Production. Yes I am planning to dorm there. I’m hoping for I-house or RLC. I’m sure you’ll hear good news soon. It sounds to me like they are accepting/rejecting people who applied for impacted majors first. You probably have a better chance of getting in being that you did apply for a non impacted major.

CheyHH: Hahha. Your very welcome!!!
How cool! Production seems like a fun major. So are you a freshmen or have you already received your bachelors degree because you are planning to go to CSULB to get your Masters, right?
Yea, I want to dorm in RLC too because people say that the dorms are really nice and that you have a better chance of meeting people there. Wait, so was your major impacted? How do you know that Anthropology isn’t because I heard that all majors at CSULB are impacted. I hope that I get in or I’ll have to commute to Fullerton which isn’t my ideal college experience. I’m still waiting for four other colleges but CSULB is my top choice and SDSU is my second. Blah!

Just checked my application status and I’m considered for the competitive round. But still no decision -__- i’m so nervous it is killing me. haha

RockyHorror: I’m a freshman. I’m going to get my BA at CSULB and I plan on going to USC after I’ve graduated for my Masters. Yes, I’m majoring in Film which is impacted. There is a list of majors which is impacted. I’m sure you’ll get in! You seem to be well qualified for the school.
[Impacted Majors](http://www.csulb.edu/depts/enrollment/admissions/impacted_major.html)
This is the list of majors which are impacted and anthropology isn’t one of them.

jaythe65: Do you live in the service area? Your SAT is the same as me and your GPA isn’t that much lower so I’m sure you have a great chance especially if you are in state.

CheyHH: Good for you!!! I am sure you’ll like college life at CSULB. I hear that the campus is so beautiful and that the people there are real chill. I will definitely post whether or not I got in. I see what you mean by the impacted majors so hopefully that means something good in my case. I checked my application status online and all it said that I was in the competitive round so I think they still need to review my application. Thanks a lot :)

jaythe65: I am certain you’ll hear from CSULB quite soon. I’m also waiting so maybe we’ll hear back from them at the same time. Good luck!!! :)

@ktkodi It’s not my first choice but my 3rd or 4th
@RockyHorror I live in Southern CA and my g.p.a is 3.7 my sat score is 1800.

RockyHorror: Thanks! I am planning on going out there to visit next month. I hope you get in! If you do get in, are you planning on doing any clubs or Greek life?

So has anyone visited the dorms? I went and saw the campus but that was it
