STEPHWONG: I’m sure you’ll be accepted real soon so don’t worry. :)

CheyHH: I don’t think I will visit until I officially know that I was accepted because the school would only therefore be teasing me with its’ greatness. Hhahha. Thank you so much for your kindness, I really appreciate the optimism. If I do get in I might explore the idea of joining a club, it really depends. I want to meet a lot of cool people during college so I either need to be way more outgoing or join some type of organization. What about, what are your plans???

RockyHorror: You’re welcome! I know what you mean. I am only outgoing with my close knit circle of friends. I am planning to join the film club and hopefully a sorority so I can meet new people.

CheyHH: Yes, exactly! I don’t like being shy around new people because than it makes it harder for you to be their friend because they think you’re all weird and silent. Hahha. I am going to try to be more outgoing my first two weeks or so in order for me to make a variety of friends. I’m going to need to break out of that shell sometime, right?
Film club sounds cool. I’ve always wanted to be in a sorority after I saw a bunch of movies but now I don’t because its a bit too intimidating for me. But that will be so incredibly fun, I’m sure your freshmen year is going to be so exciting and eventful. Gosh, I can’t wait to graduate high school!!!

Anyone else hear anything from CSULB? It seems as if the admissions office has not sent anything out lately to anyone about their admission status in a week. Maybe they’re stretching more of the acceptances out until March, what do you guys think?

RockyHorror: Don’t be intimidated! I’m sure some sororities have a party lifestyle but there are some that are geared towards community service and leadership too. I’m hoping my freshman year will be exciting. I can’t wait to graduate either. The only thing that sucks is that all of my friends except for 3 are juniors and the 3 that aren’t are staying on the east coast, so I am literally going into school without knowing anyone! I am hoping to make some close friends at SOAR though.
Also, don’t forget that this is a holiday weekend and the admissions office is probably closed until tomorrow.

CheryHH: Yea, I know. I think freshmen year needs to be exciting because if college feels just like high school with the same immature people and the boring activities than what would be the whole point of going to college well other than continuing our education of course. Hhahha. That does suck about the whole friend situation but maybe it will push you to be more talkative during the freshmen orientation and the first few weeks.
Being in a new place does have its’ perks like starting over. You’ll be fine, if you’re as nice as your are online than I’m sure you’ll make loads of friends.
True, I hope that the holiday is the case of no signs of admissions. I just hope they send out more this week so I can apply for housing early. This is honestly the worst part of my senior year… story of my life.

RockyHorror: Awww, thanks! Yeah, I am hoping I can meet some people at orientation who will be in my classes. I know how you feel about the housing thing, my parents won’t let me apply until I visit campus and I won’t get to visit till spring break. I am hoping my roommate and I will be good friends though. I’m sure we will be as long as she’s spontaneous and a daredevil like me. Hopefully you get in!

CheyHH: Hahha, your welcome. Yea that’s like my only concern at this moment, besides getting accepted, is housing because it’s a first come first serve situation and if I don’t get accepted until last minute then I am stuck! Blah! Well at least you know that you’ll get to see the school soon, that will be fun. I know right, roommates are the scariest thing to worry about since they are total strangers to us and we are to them.
I hope my roommate and I get along well but I usually get along with everyone so I shouldn’t worry. I’m hoping for like an awesome and fun spirited person who balances their work and pleasure equally. Anyone drama free will do. I guess that I just want a roommate with the same personality as me but more outgoing. I just want to enjoy myself during college with no regrets and great memories because my high school experience sucked.
Thanks, hopefully I do get in. That moment I get an email I’ll probably throw up in excitement well only if it’s good news of course. :)

RockyHorror: I’m hoping for the same thing. This year and sophomore year were not good years for me so I hope my entire college experience will be drama free. Try not to throw up! You’ll throat will hurt afterwards and that won’t be any fun. :(

CheyHH: I am most definitely certain that college will better for the both of us.
The people, the courses and the experience will be well worth while. Hahha. I will try not to throw up but every time I see an email in my inbox, my heart almost falls out of my mouth but then I realize that it’s for FAFSA or something irrevelant. :o
I can’t enjoy anything anymore until I know that I’ve gotten in. So, what are you most excited for about college??

RockyHorror: It better be! Have you been checking your application status through the applicant self check or are you just waiting for them to email you?
I know how you feel. I’m behind in my AP Stat class right now because I can’t concentrate on it, or anything for that matter.
I’m not sure what I am most excited about. I am really happy that I get to move out to California and I’m happy that I get to focus more on my filming career. I’m also really excited about meeting new people. How about you?

CheyHH: Haha, It will! I actually have checked my application status multiple times and all it says is that I am in the competitive round and that they’ll send me notifications before April 1st and so on and so forth. It’s getting quite aggravating because I’d at least wanted them to send me something saying that I’ve made it to the last round and asking me to send my 7th semester transcripts in. But of course, they didn’t. I’m still waiting for the email though.
California is cool but now I’m tired of it or at least I’m tired with it from where I live. It will be a great experience for you since you’re majoring in film and L.A is right outside of Long Beach so you can learn a lot while living here.
I’m excited for a new step in my life where I can be independent and make new friends and take new risks. I feel like if I don’t get accepted into CSULB, my strong effort in high school wouldn’t have been worth it as much. I’m spent too many years being the do-gooder so I could have a brighter future and it will suck if all it gets me is commuting to a school I didn’t want to go to or is my second or third choice :(

RockyHorror: I completely understand where you are coming from. I would have been crushed if I had to stay in Florida because I didn’t get accepted into CSULB, especially since I’ve worked so hard to keep my GPA up after messing up in sophomore year due to my brilliance of wanting to do IB. They’ll probably start sending out decisions again tomorrow, I can’t imagine they are going to wait until the end of March to send out all of the decisions for freshman with the housing requirement.

CheyHH: Do you have any family out here in SoCal? Yea, my sophomore year wasn’t great either because of Geometry, hahha but now I’m doing so well and I really want CSULB to give me a chance.
Hopefully. I’d be super angry if they waited until the last moment to send out acceptances because there are other college deadlines I have to keep my eye on for the other schools I applied to. :o

RockyHorror: Yup. My mom is from Riverside and I have cousins and all out there. My grandmother actually went to CSULB too. Yeah, one of the other schools I applied to isn’t sending out decisions till the 17th, luckily I don’t care about that school anyway.

CheyHH: That’s good. At first I thought you were coming to California without knowing anyone in the state.
Hahhaa. Well it seems that you’re all set for college well at least you are set on where you want to go and now all you have to do is wait until school starts. Yay! Did you already accept your admission???

RockyHorror: Oh gosh, I think I would cry if I came across country without knowing a single person. Yeah I did accept admission there so now I just have to visit and do my housing app and deposit and then orientation! I still have to figure out if I want to minor in something and want I want to minor in if I do.

CheyHH: Well it’s good that you have some support out here.
How awesome! It’s something to look forward to in your last few months of being a high school student. I know its weird but I’m like excited for you!!! hahha.
You could have a minor or double major but I think double major is harder or it takes longer to do. You can minor in something that has always interested you or in something relating to your film major. You still have a long while to decide, so at least this summer you can weight your options.

RockyHorror: Yes it is. And thanks. I’m rooting for you to get accepted, who knows, maybe we will end up in GenEd classes together.
I’m thinking of minoring in Native American or International Studies even though it has nothing to do with film. I have always found Native American history to be absolutely fascinating and I am a huge traveler so they both seem interesting to me. I think I’m going to print out a list of minors and cross out ones I wouldn’t be interested in and then weighing the course loads of the remaining ones to figure out which to take.

CheyHH: Thank you so much! I’ll definitely keep you posted on what CSULB says, even if they deny me. Can you imagine if we did have GE together, we wouldn’t even know that we were from this website. That would be hilarious!
Native American studies seems very interesting. You should take a few classes at CSULB and see how far your interest takes you and then you can officially decide. Lucky! I want to travel someday too, I haven’t left North America but I’ve been to Canada, Mexico and a lot of the states.
Yea but take your time with deciding what courses you will take this fall. If I get in, I’ll do the same because I have a small idea what I want to begin taking my freshmen year at CSULB. This is our first signs of adulthood and independence. Yes!
