Has anyone been accepted to CSULB for Fall 2012 yet?

ktkodi: Sigh, not yet. i’m checking my email everyday! The wait’s killing me…=]

1960, 4.25 (10-11), accepted, OC county.
my friend from la county diamond bar area got rejected.

Hannah: oh I know how you feel! Luckily I’ve been accepted everywhere I applied so far since I didn’t really apply to any big schools, but I’m not sure yet where I want to go.

Collegefreak: Congrats! What’s your major?

For transfers, I just called them today and they told me they are still reviewing applications. I asked specifically for transfers by the way. I asked when will the school ask me for my transcripts (if minimum requirements are met), and was told it is from today until early April. And ask that we be patient… I don’t know how much more patience I have! Also check your spam mail because their email sometimes to go that folder. Hope this helps us transfers  there’s still a chance!

LOL, where did all you Fall 2012ers come from?!

I think it’s cool that OOS students are getting accepted!

For freshmen, don’t worry about turning in transcripts. You have until June or the end of your last semester.

I know waiting is hard, but you guys waited this long, what’s a few more days/weeks? CSULB for the past years have had the second most number of applicants (behind UCLA), so it will take them a while to make and send decisions out. Be patient! :)

Hey Power, So even for transfer, does it take this long for them to just ask to turn in transcripts? It’s just I feel like, wow they don’t even want to look at my transcripts.

Hopefully us waiting will hear something soon. Hopefully good news that is =)

Hey guys, just thought I’d add to this thread…I’m in the transfer waiting boat, too!

Applied with a 3.16 GPA, raised it to a 3.25 for the final round (they just asked for me to submit my official transcript). So, not sure if that’ll make a difference. I applied for a non-impacted major, and I’m in So Cal, but not in the service area. Waiting…so impatiently…

Thanks for the update donnaholic, I guess they’re working hard and going through the list.

collegefreak1222: When did you receive your acceptance letter? Did you apply as a freshmen for fall of 2012 or are you a transfer student?

Is anyone else waiting for their acceptance as a incoming freshmen for the fall of 2012 and are also in-state? I feel like everyone on this forum are all transfers or out of state students. :(

They sent me an email asking for my transcripts on January 30th

Joining in as well.

I’m a transfer. I’m originally from the LA County area but I’m attending Fresno State right now. I applied with a 3.7 gpa, major is not impacted.
They asked for my transcripts Jan 30th as well, I sent requested them the very next day so I’m waiting for them to be processed still.

Hannah and Collegefreak: Congrats!

Everyone else who is still waiting: Relax! Like Power said they have a lot of applicants. Also, I’d like to remind everyone that each person on the admissions team gets a stack of applications from a certain area and some people get through the quicker than others will. Some of you guys might just be at the bottom of your stack as well. I wish all of you the best of luck. :)

It just seems as if everyday is getting harder to wait for the stupid admission decisions. I guess March will be the longest and most dreadful month this year. Blah! :(

RockyHorror, I hear you…March is going to be soooo looonnnggg…

I’m not freaking out too much…I know my GPA is low, and I know the stakes are higher than ever this year. Honestly, I was surprised to find I made it to the final round. I’ve already been accepted to Cal State Fullerton, so if I don’t make it to Long Beach…it’ll be ok  I wish all of you the best of luck!

donnaholic: Yea I know right? If you don’t mind me asking, what is your g.pa and when did they tell you that you had made it to the final round???
I got an early acceptance to CSU Fullerton and although it wasn’t my first choice like CSULB is, I’m still happy that I did get accepted somewhere. I will probably go there if I don’t get accepted into CSULB since it’s closer to home. I’m still waiting for four more colleges. Best of wishes to everyone! :)

Yeah I got early acceptance to Fullerton, too! Oh, see Long Beach is closer to me, but I’ll take Fullerton…haha. Crazy how I’m not in the LB service area…I’m right on the border, in Orange County, something like 3.7 miles away :(

Ok, looking in my email…I applied to both schools the first day of applications (what was that, October 1?) and Fullerton accepted by snail mail November 14, crazy early…it was posted online November 9th, if only I would have looked there. That was with a 3.16 GPA, Sociology major for Fullerton, Human Development for Long Beach. On January 30th I received an email from Long Beach saying they required documents…it was the exact same email that someone else posted earlier in this thread about needing an official transcript. That transcript has a 3.25 GPA…crossing my fingers. Considering how high of GPAs they’re cutting for the freshman, I don’t see much hope…but I actually visited CSUF’s campus today for the first time and enjoyed it, so either way…I’ll live :)

edit Oh my gosh, I just looked back and read that some of you are still waiting to hear if you need to send documents! I can’t believe that, there’s now way your GPAs are low like mine, right? I’m not even in area! Maybe it’s my major, I don’t know. In case you want to check your spam box, I got the email from CSULB Enrollment Services and the subject line says “Documents Required”. It threw me for a loop because all the other emails I received from Long Beach came from a different email account, labeled es-admissions. So I really hope you guys can find the email, if it was sent!

I received mine two weeks ago as a pre-psychology major

donnaholic: I applied on October 3rd and still haven’t heard anything yet. I have a 3.59 g.p.a and live in the San Bernadino County. I applied as freshmen, majoring in Forensic Anthropology. They still haven’t requested for me to send my transcripts and it’s freaking me out since most people received that email a month ago. :o
I don’t think I’ll be able to dorm at CSU Fullerton since I’m like forty-five minutes to an hour away from the university. I know it’s a good school but I don’t want to commute. I wanted the whole college experience with the dorms and that’s what appealed to me about CSULB since it’s far enough away for me to dorm there and it has a beautiful campus. CSULB is an overall great school and it has a great vibe. I am hoping I get an email from them by the end of this month.

Congrats to all that were accepted!!! :)

RockyHorror: Oh, I must have missed where you mentioned you applied as a freshman! In that case, all of your dates are going to be different than mine, anyway, so don’t worry about that. Hmm…to me, your GPA looks pretty high! Forensic Anthro…what an awesome major, I almost considered it. Have you done any anthropology stuff in high school? My school didn’t offer it, but I took a few classes at community college and loved them. I hope you get the transcript letter soon…the good news is, it’s mentioned on the website that when they ask you for documents after the deadline, they give you an extended deadline…so you’ll be ok about getting things in on time, once necessary. Crossing my fingers for you!

nicole: Congrats! What was your GPA?

donnaholic: Hopefully, I have my fingers crossed too!!! My school doesn’t offer any anthropology courses but they offered anatomy which I decided not to take because I wanted to have five periods and since I’m already taking Pre-Calculus , I didn’t want to take a science too. :o
But yea I just constantly check my email everyday hoping that they sent me anything that signifies that they didn’t forget about me. Hahha. Thank you for your support. I hope you get in CSULB as well. :)
