Trying to determine the importance of various factors in the application process I remembered that 2 schools on my son's list waived the interview requirement at the beginning of January 2013 - about 2 weeks before the applications were due. Does it mean, that the interview did not carry the same weight in the decision making process for these schools in particular?
My personal impression was that the interview was one of the most important parts of the process, unless you are a nationally recognized prodigy the school would chase to admit.
What do you think? Has anyone been actually admitted to Hotchkiss and Lawrenceville without an interview this year?

My son applied to one school that couldn’t / wouldn’t schedule a Skye interview and we could not travel 1,000+ miles to interview on campus at that time.

He was wait listed at that school.
