Has anyone been reject through the My Calpoly Portal?

what bothers me is no one has gotten rejected which means something right?? i mean they do have to reject people

yeah for sure!

hahaha. but just because people haven't gotten rejections yet, doesn't mean that they won't get them in a week or two!

I wish it was more like the UC's, where all the decisions came at one time, so you don't have to wait throughout the whole month to find out...

It's very discouraging, and is making me cancel out Cal Poly as a possible college now.

At least other schools like Davis and Santa Cruz let ALL applicants know at a specific date...

yeah i agree! i am disappointed in cal poly.

although if i was accepted, i probably would go. haha

Well as far as we know, have any science/math majors gotten in? Cause if not then they prolly just havent released decisions yet, so EVERYone has the "no determination" notice.

Right? Heck, i dunno..

umfortunatly wrong, my friend got in for biology marh 6th

My gf got in as a Bio major as well.

Just so everyone understands, the new "dorms" are not dorms. Sophmores are not allowed to stay in dorms. The new "dorms" are actually on campus appartments. It is called the Poly Canyon appartments. The way it worked was that current freshman (before our acceptances went out) were put into a lottery and 1,200 names were drawn out. These people were offered a space in poly canyon and are allowed to move in as sophmores. So this really has not effect on how many spots there are in the dorms because sophmores don't stay in dorms regardless. However, I have also heard that slightly more people are being accepted this year from varies sources.

I just visited Cal Poly yesterday, and chatted with a few people so this is where my information is coming from. There was a lot of speculation as to what was going to happen with the new living quarters, that is why everyone kind of has a different story. To the best of my understanding, what I have just told you is the final word.

Thanks sora for that post, how do you think the whole housing situation has affected the timing and schedule of the acceptances?

Well obviously they changed the housing situation so that you can't apply for housing until you officially accept their invitation. That in itself should fix a lot of the problems they were having last year.

As far as timing of acceptance invitations and all that jazz I really can only speculate. Anyone's theory is as good as mine.

ok well, its sunday night. My status is still undetermined. I'm just gonna assume they did not post over the weekend. Tomorrow is a business day, so hopefully they start posting some acceptances.

If anyone gets accepted or hears something new and relevant just post back here.

Thanks and good luck to all of us. :)

ugh, i have just given up on it already....
i've lost all hope ahha

Yeah... I'm with ya jack...

Me too. I'm thinking I have like a 5% chance now. It's sad that I WANT to be waitlisted at this point, it's better than rejection. :/

^ I know what you mean. Do you think we'll find out tomorrow?

rain, I've been wondering that every hour for the past 2 weeks. lol

agreed sad day :(

They didn't email me anything about a mycalpoly thingy. I got my acceptance in the mail then I realized a mycalpoly thingy existed >.<

everyone check your portals, i got rejected today! :[

Yep, I didnt' get in either.

At least I finally got notified though!
