I'm seeing lots of acceptances, but I haven't heard anyone report that they were rejected. Has anyone gotten an official "no" yet, or do the UCs save the rejections for last?

i got rejected… from ucsb. so they’re sending rejections as well.

what were ur stats to ucsb peppamintt in that they rejected you?

I have seen some people rejected from UCSC and UCSB, but haven’t seen any around that have heard they were rejected from UCSD and UCD. Of course, people may prefer to not post their rejections publicly.

they rejected me cause they said i didn’t meet admission requirements. the units held me back cause they didn’t transfer 3 of my classes. but i appealed, as they told me to. let’s hope for the best!

yea, i don’t think people like going on this site to say hey look at me i got rejected

lord knows i wont ever come back to this site if i get denied by ucsd!

heh, jk.
but i did get denied by sdsu.

I understand that people don’t want to make their rejections public, but I’m sure people don’t mind posting that they know of people who have been rejected. I probably should have reworded my question.

I wish you much luck peppamintt. whats your GPA right now? and what major are you pursuing? what CC you go to? I also know of some people who got rejected but feel shy to come here to make their rejections public.

to weegotfish you make a good point. this actually tells you of the many people who don’t really care about others but themselves. I mean if you come to this site and say “my friend got rejected from this school” and if that same person gets rejected he/she does not admit it. We will see what happens, so far i have been accepted to ucsd, and ucsb, waiting on merced, occidental, and ucla. I still do not understand why merced hasn’t posted decisions, its taking longer than usual, but oh well. oright best of luck to you and everyone

Although not a UC, Cal Poly SLO rejected me (mechanical engineering transfer student).

I have all the pre-requisites done (no IGETC, but their admissions person over the phone said they couldn’t care less about it for engineering majors).

They admitted 28 students out of 241 applicants, and the average GPA for the mech. engineering transfer student was 3.64. That’s way up there for engineering majors :(

Ogi

Ogi, that is riciculous, why so many rejects? wow this very demoralizing, what other schools you applied to? whats your GPA?

Mechanical Engineering at Cal Poly SLO is ungodly competative. They are a good school, and they know it. Due to California budget cuts, they cannot admit as many students into the major as they used to. The demand is the same, but the supply is less. I’m no economics major, but that is not good for the transfer student.

I have a 3.4-3.5 GPA (depending on CSU vs. UC GPA, etc etc). I have been admitted into Cal Poly Pomona, UC Irvine and UC Davis. I await UC San Diego and UC Berkeley.

It’s demoralizing, but I knew I didn’t have the GPA to be that competitive. Once I heard that only 28 were admitted, I felt better, knowing that their rejection didn’t translate to them thinking I wasn’t a worthy enough of a student.

Ogi

chesser,im business econ and my gpa isnt great but not bad either… 3.67. and im not cc, im a private uni in california (i know this is SO against my chances) buti already submitted my appeal… im nervous!! =/

peppamintt, I wish you all the luck in the world. which private uni you go to? I hope they accept you and you can have a nice summer time getting ready to going to a very good school. I am still waiting for my results next month, hope I can get accepted and that your appeal comes through
