My parents want to send me there in a few years.

I was looking at the webpage, brochures etc and I'm scared! I think I'll go crazy in this school!

According to what I am reading there is pretty much no free time just to relax and hang out. As far as I can see you go straight from school and do sports and arts stuff for two hours then you get dinner then study and then you go to bed with hardly any kind of break or alone time in between.

I'm not sporty at all, I play a little tennis and I like to read, play computer games hang out with friends etc. I'm not artistic or musical either.

Has anyone went to le rosey? Do you get much free time? Do you get to rest at the weekends? How do non sporty kids cope?

That describes most American boardings schools as well. Don’t worry so much. I’ve never heard of a school that didn’t have free periods somewhere throughout the day. Of course, you generally need them to prepare for classes.

The thing to keep in mind is that EVERYone there will be expected to do those things, so everyone is in the same boat. You wouldn’t really feel like you’re missing out on anything ( like your friends are out having fun while you’re stuck studying or doing sports) because, well…you’re not! Your friends have the same schedule.

The regimented study schedule though is daunting, and not needed for some kids, very needed for others. My son came home for his first weekend and did all his HW before heading back, but was panicked about how he would handle the mandatory 3 hours of study time, Sunday night.

Some kids don’t need prefects etc looking over their shoulder with mandatory study periods.

redbluegoldgreen - those kids should look into SPS. No study hall. It’s definitely not right for kids who would benefit from more structure but for children like your son, it does provide more freedom than most BS.

you will love Rosey. A member of my family goes there. They have 1/2 days on Wed. they walk into town or take the train to the city. Lots of school work but lots of fun too. All the kids are friendly. Sports are not a big deal. You don`t even have to know how to ski. Hope that helps. :)

one of my good friends went their and her roommate and her visited me in colorado and said they have a lot of time to party. and that they party a lot

Does anyone here know about the admission process? In which month it starts? I’m thinking of applying for 2014
