yup. that’s what i was afraid of. i mean my family is definitely not in a bad financial situation. in fact we’re rather well off. but that tuition is ridiculous.

Don’t worry about it, its probably one of those schools you have to register for from the time you’re born. And its probably one of those schools that just provides those kids with an elementary education, probably the educational equivalent of one of the HADES, the kids who go there probably have the rest of their lives already decided and their parents have more than enough money to assure them a comfortable and secure life regardless of what career they choose to pursue.

i’m also applying to a couple of the HADES schools so it’s no worries. i was just wondering because le rosey seemed to be a good match for me as well, but if what you say is true applying would just be a waste of time and money.

For reasons I can’t understand, a lot of misinformed people tend to reply to posts about Le Rosey.

I realize that Rosey doesn’t give out as many scholarships as other schools might but there is scholarship funding available from the Rosey Foundation. They usually look at academic capabilities, not too much at EC. You should contact them through this website: index

There are quite a few kids on scholarships at the school right now, so don’t be discouraged. You should get in touch with the admissions office by phone and have them send over the entrance exams to your school if you don’t plan on visiting the campus. The exams test your Math and English level, and I found them quite easy.

The people at Rosey really aren’t the snobs that random strangers try to depict them as, so don’t buy into those fairy tales. Good luck on your application!

thank you so much. it’s great to have advice from someone who has attended le rosey in the past or is currently attending. there seems to be a lot of mixed information out there regarding the school. i emailed the rosey foundation with some questions about applying for financial aid and hopefully will be hearing back from them when they return from their break if not sooner.

No, you don’t. Stop spreading rumors. While financial aid is less existent at Le Rosey (and by that I mean it is very difficult to get) than it is in a school such as Exeter, people have received aid before.

Don’t talk about things that you know very little about.

Le Rosey isn’t a merit based school. VERY FEW SCHOOLS ARE 100% MERIT, but Le Rosey is lower than the Hades schools for sure. The vast majority of Le Rosey’s students are either:
A. Related to the world’s royalty
OR
B. The world’s royalty

and sometimes even C. The illegitimate child of the world’s royalty.

The world’s political leaders and royalty send their kids to Le Rosey. Why? If they all send their kids there, look at the contacts that could be made? Industrialists of Southern Europe that want to put up a new factory in urban India already know the largest urban land owner in India when the time for a new factory finally rolls around… Because they went to school together at Le Rosey.

They call the maids “peasants”(In French)… If that doesn’t put a bad taste in your mouth… Then consider Le Rosey, but I would be afraid of turning into someone like that if I went to a school that adopts that mindset.

“Don’t talk about things that you know very little about.”

I think that its actually you who is talking about things you know very little about

I go to Rosey right now and I am not part of the world’s royalty or related to anyone from any royal family.
Its true that you make a lot of contacts in Rosey but that is the beauty of the school, and nobody tries to hide that
Oh and the students calling the maids “peasants”, I had to laugh when I saw that because you are quoting a Forbes article from 1999 written by a very controversial journalist who visited the school during the summer camp session, although I doubt that anyone would call anyone a “peasant” back then, they certainly don’t now

hey AstraCastra, Your posts anwered some of my concerns about Rosey. What yr. are you? I
m going there this fall. I
m in grade 9 in the U.S. Are you a good skier? I`m not. What are the best things you like about your school? What are your dislikes about it?

hey i was wondering if le rosey is all that difficult to get into? and if a person gets accepted, do they HAVE to be placed on the waiting list or is immediate attendance (meaning the academic year after they apply) possible? is the CHF2000 fee paid right when the application is sent or will the school respond? andd just one last question, when it says your academic profile is needed from the two previous years, does that include the current one? (if i am currently in 10th grade, and applying for 11th, does that mean i need to give them my 10th/9th reports or 9th/8th?) i know there are so many questions, but i’d be very appreciative if i could get information that answers any (or all) of them! THANKS! :)
