Has anyone done the Summer Internship in Biomedical Research at the NIH?

If so, what's it like? Is it worth it?

Bump, I’m also interested in this program.

Bump 10char

I have a few friends who have had internships at NIH, NIMH, FDA, etc. From what I’ve heard, it’s an incredible experience. Very competitive to land an internship at any of these places (which is why I never tried lol) but worth it in terms of the education and experience you will take away. It’s also going to look incredible on a college app. Sorry I don’t have too many details about the actual program! I just know they did a lot of lab work.

Just a question: Whats the deal with transcripts? The app doesnt require them in the original submission, but do you have to submit one later?

Hi I’m from the DC/Metro area and a lot of my older friends have done NIH in the past. Yeah they dont need a transcript unless you get in.

NIH is one of the most connections-based programs people apply to at my school. I would recommend you email some professors. Otherwise, its almost impossible to get in
