I applied EA and yes I know that all decisions are not released until the end of December nut there is a girl in my grade who got accepted via e- mail + snail mail in late November and got notification of her full tuition scholarship today! Why have heard absolutely NOTHING?

I don't expect much my SAT scores are bad 1540

My grades are good though, I have a 3.6/4.0

all decisions made and mailed. You should hear early next week. Best of luck to all of you. Its competitive. Very competitive. If you are deferred, fix what you can, work very hard and try again in the RD pool. If outright denied, have a good cry, dry your tears and get IMMEDIATELY to work on your match schools and safety school applications. The best way to beat the admissions blues is to turn the page, close the book and look to another school which is waiting just for YOU.

I heard some people found out through the online portal, but mine still just says that they’ve received everything. I haven’t reveived anything by e-mail or snail mail either.

Do you have any information regarding NM commended students and scholarships? My son received his maroon folder with acceptance into Gabelli but no scholarship offers. Is it possible for something to come later?

My daughter is a National Merit Commended student, and we’ve heard nothing about merit money yet, though she was accepted before Thanksgiving and we filled out the CSS profile and called in the FAFSA info as recommended in her acceotance letter, before December.

No, I am not part of admissions committee. But I do happen to know its all done and mailed out. Its this time every year. Best of luck to all of you.

As for scholarships they award some now, some later in February and even later in April. Don’t panic. But if concerned you can call and ask them since you are a NM commended student. Generally (though not absolute) it requires an SAT of 1400/1600 scale to get some scholarship money. Fill out the CSS and FAFSA as well because grant money, though not as prestigious is also generously awarded if you qualify for aid. That can be equal to some scholarship levels.

We were sent a “free” application for Fordham, and thought “what the heck” However, now I am truly awaiting word, one way or another. I have a 1620 SAT, 3.6 unwaited GPA, lots of EC’s, also I’m black, don’t know if that makes a difference. Earned a NYS advanced regents diploma, and have taken 6 college courses in high school. I just want to know.

My son hasn’t heard either. 34 ACT, 3.98 U/4.34 W, NMSF, rank 1/242, 3 varsity sports, good ec’s, 2080 SAT. Hopefully it will be in the mail tomorrow! :)

My3Daughters, did you ever hear anything? We are in the same situation, National Merit Commended, early email, filed the CSS and got no Merit scholarship or financial aid information with the formal acceptance.

emotup: I did hear from a neighbor whose son’s stats were similar, that last year he got his $15,000/year award in February. Though I hate to wait until then, I think these early awards are for the National Merit Semi and Finalists. I don’t think anyone else has been awarded yet? (Is that correct?) I feel as if this time of year wouldn’t be the greatest time to call the Financial Aid office – maybe after Christmas.
