Has anyone ever felt like that their parent(s) said the wrong thing with a rejection

burntsnowman, the right thing, if you ask me, is what jazzcar said, because there's not a lot that can be said. Except for food, because even in a bad mood you have to love food.

Rejection does suck major balls, but thats life. You dont get into the college you wanted, you stepped in mud with your new shoes on, someone close to you dies. Its reality, it bites but thats the truth. Sure it really blows now but in the end what do you have to essentially do is suck it up, get over it, and move on. Dwelling itsnt going to change the out come and niether is sulking.

Everyone, please realize that your parents are disappointed too.

Sometimes we say things to make ourselves feel better.

I'm sorry I didn't handle my daughter's rejections better.
What would you like to hear from us?

Let's say all moms are like that. When I cried over the bad SAT score I had she said, ' You probably made stupid mistakes. It's ok at least you made it to a college ' ~_~

at least no one's parents here made derogatory remarks about minorities when they got deferred from Princeton.
