Has ANYONE ever gotten into Penn with a 3.4?

Oh, man. I almost got in trouble for that a month ago and managed to get off...but hey, it wasn't an academic dishonesty issue, which I think is worse. Good luck! Don't be ashamed. People make mistakes...anyway, as long as all else is well, I'm sure you'll be fine.

Is anyone here transferring to Penn for a middle eastern studies major? They just divided their old middle eastern studies and created a modern middle east major (what i focused on in my app, modern middle east) this spring after i sent in my application and im wondering how that will look.

^^^ that will increase your chances significantly... they are probablly looking to fill the major

I hope so... Bucknell has essentially no arabic program at all, not even enough classes to fill a minor. Im worried cause i didnt really think things through and i only applied to Penn, when there are plenty of other city schools with arabic programs that i shoudl have applied to.

you can allways apply for spring transfer.

Do most schools accept spring transfers? I know Penn doesnt.

yea some do. Im applying to Pitt and if i dont get in there, ill go to Drexel Community College for 1 more semester to give my GPA some 'roids

Thats a smart plan. What are you planning on majoring in?

Neuroscience

Wow thats pretty awesome.... one thing ive been worried about transferring though has to do with college ECs, i feel like everyone has like 4000 things theyre doing, im in a choir and an acappella group only (though it adds up to 12.5 hours a week)

yea you should be fine.

U Penn is very very nice. its right next to Drexel, and a world of difference between the two schools. nickname for drexel is "drexel community college." be careful when and if you go to drexel though, the area is very dangerous! campus reports all the time in my email.

yea, Penn is kinda a haven in the middle of west philly... anyway, good luck with Pitt, i hope you get in!

Penn is a nice campus, a lot nicer then Drexel. Drexel is in the middle of a freaking steel mill it feels like, luckily im only commuting now (and it wont be till next week)

Go eat at Kosi!!!!!!!!!!!

cosi? i love cosi... we have one in south jersey thats great

yea theres one right next to Penn, hang out spot!!!!!!!! i love that place......... this is making me very hungry right now!

well at least youre somewhat close... id have to drive for 3 hours!

1 hour drive for me, or 1 hour 15 minutes on the train. cosi kicks ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
