Hello everyone, this is my first post.
I am anxiously awaiting my admissions decision for fall of 2010
I sent my full application about a week ago so now my impatience is kicking in :P

ataboy23 no- all my buddies were COLA

any news y’all? I found another person who as admitted to COLA, so it looks like those are either all done or close to it. I wonder when Cockrell is going to get it in gear and notify you ataboy, hopefully this week!

Accepted this morning!

I am transferring to Natural Sciences (Computer Science) with 65 credits from Blinn College, 3.7GPA. few extracurricular but lots of work experience and scholarships.

Good luck to everyone still checking that page every hour!

Ryan

Congrats Ryan!

Thanks sundoll, congrats to you too!

Hey all,

I’ve been lurking in this thread for what seems like forever. Been trying to gage UT’s progress on accepting people.

I just got my acceptance to the College of Natural Sciences.

I’m transferring 64 hours and I have a ~3.6GPA. Not the strongest application, but I had several of my (UT alumni) ACC professors write me stellar letters of recommendation.

I’ve been checking every hour for weeks and mine just updated a few minutes ago, so hang in there guys!

congrats David!

congrats everyone who got in! I heard from the admissions officer that the desicions would speed up starting today. So far it seems like the order is COLA’s and then Natural sciences, maybe by the end of this week we’ll start hearing from engineering…

so, when everyone is hearing back and being accepted, what has their status changed to on the status check website?? i have been checking mine even more frequently now that people are hearing and i checked this morning and it dropped off the part about currently reviewing my application for admission and just says they have received all of my items.

i dont know if this is a bad sign or a good sign or just means they are dont reviewing and will post their decision soon.

any insight??

Mine changed to this:

"Congratulations! You have been admitted to your first-choice major in the College Of Natural Sciences ( Computer Sciences, Entry-Level ) at UT Austin. Discover what to do next to begin your Longhorn experience. "

But, I’m not sure if had changed to anything else in between the reviewing message and the one above. Hope it works out for you Kate!

Does anyone know the date by which the top 10%ers must accept or decline UT? I assume that day after would be the day the non-top 10%ers could expect to start hear back?

kate, mine did that too last week, I called and they said that “Someone must have changed the wording, but your application is still being reviewed” it was like that for about 24 hours and now it is back to the original wording. Don’t know what exactly that means either, the lady on the other end didn’t indicate anything of importance either. Just blowin’ in the wind on this one.

I’m lucky that I got accepted 2 weeks ago because its given me time to visit campus and talk about fin aid. I’d be going crazy if my app was still being reviewed, sucks for you guys lol.

leeznon did they already have your FAFSA on file? I got my award information today, less than a week after my acceptance - it seemed super fast to me and was just curious if it was a fluke and I should expect everything else to move slowly, or are they actually on the ball for everything besides admission decisions. lol

Yeah I got my fin aid package about 5 or 6 days after acceptance since my FAFSA was already there. I didn’t like what they offered so I made a special circumstances form and that’s gonna take another week or 2 to process.

There’s a lot of things that I need to do still, since every thing’s new to me it’s taking a while. For example, I need to upgrade my EID which might take a while because it needs to be mailed; I need to sign my loan but I’m stuck because I don’t know the application number; I’m waiting for them to reevaluate my special circumstances; I need to do my direct deposit authorization; and a few other things that I can’t think of.

Yeah I have to submit special circumstances too since I was laid off and that affects my EFC. Plus, they have stuff all backwards - even with my current EFC I should get more Pell than they anticipate, and I should actually have less subsidized Stafford available because of what I’ve already accepted for the current semester. I’m getting my circumstances appeal together and then making an appointment because it just seems off to me. I figured while I’m on campus I’ll go to the ID office and do my final EID upgrade. After that, all I have left is to have an advisor force me into all of my classes because they are already full.

Huh classes are already full?!

I got accepted to civil engineering today! Such a relief. Good luck to everyone!
my stats are 3.75 GPA with A in Calc 1, 2 and Chem 1 from St. Edward’s University in Austin
I am currently in Calc 3 and Physics 1

congrats stm!! i got accepted into biomed engineering!!
i guess engineering is sending out some decisions today
