If you or anyone you know has gotten into Georgia Tech with a gpa of 3.5 or below, how did you do so? What were your stats?
If you have an unweighted GPA of 3.5 then there are many universities that would be a very good fit for you. Georgia Tech is not likely to be one of them unless your science and math grades are MUCH higher.
You can look through the EA and RD threads from the past couple years, but CC is not all encompassing. I have not seen anyone post about getting accepted with a uw GPA below 3.5. I did see one person get waitlisted with a 3.5 but don’t know if they came off the waitlist. The last CDS (2018-2019) had ~2% of the enrolled freshman class had below 3.5. That would be ~60 people. I would suspect that number would include recruited athletes.
Follow-up to @racereer. With 14 Division l sports at GT and only 60 entering freshmen with high school GPAs under 3.5, the 60 could be almost entirely athletes, URMs, or other hooks.
