hola!
i am sorry if i am annoying but what can i do?
my younger brother wants to apply to rutgers for the soe because we live in nj and soe is pretty good but his stats arent all that stellar. he has been battling anxiety and depression (we are asking him if he ready to go to college right away but he is insistent that he is ready) so it made it hard for him to focus in school. he is an intelligent kid. trust me when i say that. he just hasn’t been applying himself the way he should. but he messaged the RU admissions account from my profile (CC banned his or something but he is locked out) but they haven’t answered. so yeah, anyone get into rutgers soe with stats similar to his? thanks in advance!
Averages because his school weighs GPAs.
Freshman year: 88% (anxiety and mild depression)
Sophomore year: 87% (anxiety and mild depression)
Junior year: ~90%, 2 C’s in AP classes which add 10 points to gpa so around technically the count as B+:( (anxiety and serious depression (it got worse this year) )
Senior year: ?
SAT: around 1800 but going to improve

He seems fine. I have had friends who got in with lower stats than him.
@Sjamal really? wow! there are a lot of kids with higher stats than him that get rejected so i am surprised.
Yeah really. A lot of the ones I know got rejected because they didn’t show enough interest and applying early action/ early decision helps a lot.
@Sjamal but won’t being asian hurt us?
No absolutely not. If a being Asian hurts your chances of getting into a school then I believe that’s a little raciest and I don’t think Rutgers has anything against Asians. If anything being Asian helps because your a minority. Half the kids at Rutgers are white and most schools are working to create more diverse student body. So being Asian actually helps you a little.
@Sjamal alright thank you so much! he is a little relieved now!
