Has Anyone Gotten Rejected?

so, where has everyone else applied?? I certainly hope Penn and Columbia aren't plan on pulling any shenanigans

sill waiting on Harvard, Yale, Penn, and Cornell

I was accepted everywhere else I applied. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and Michigan State

same here! umichigan, umiami, uflorida, boston college, lehigh...all safeties :( ... waiting on the big ones: johns hopkins, penn, columbia, cornell and (not so big yet noteworthy) emory and uvirginia

I applied to PSU and NYU, and was accepted at both... so in reality, I'm not too disappointed about Northwestern b/c I've always leaned more towards NYC than Chicago anyway

The thing with Northwestern is that the financial aid sounds sooo appealing, need based scholarships are exactly what I need, and I that's the only school I can get those from (PSU didn't give me crap and NYU hasn't let me know yet).

But its not the rejection that ****es me off- it's the fact that they're not telling me

Admissions is somewhat a chance thing in these days of online apps, common apps and the ability for a few to apply to many. Must absolutely play havoc with the yields with these schools. Apps are up because of ability to send in many apps, not necessarily because of more qulaified students. In the "old" days - you had to send them each in seperately. Will be interested in seeing the final tally for my S. I have more kids to follow so this is a learning experience. Where will he get in and why? What hooks worked where? He has an interesting hook as aa nationally ranked athlete in a non-recruited sport.
Mich St - accepted honors college
U of M - accepted Engineering
MIT - rejected
WUSTL - waitlisted
Carleton - waitlisted
Harvard - waiting
Dartmouth - waiting
Amherst - waiting
Williams - waiting
Notre Dame - waiting
Vanderbilt - waiting
Northwestern - waiting
Rice - waiting

Be interesting to see the final tally. No matter where he chooses to go, orr has a choice to go, things will work out in the end.

Resses - just like you, having UM in the bag as an early acceptance makes the rest easy. Not a bad fallback if you ask me. Get an early acceptance and then take a crack at some others.
