If so, how was your experience attending a community college?
I graduate this spring and I attend 2 CC’s. Each campus life is different. CC1 is business like, people go to class and then they go home. CC2 is the opposite it’s like a big highschool which I didn’t like. CC1 had more recent highschool grads, while CC2 had more older adults. As for experience well I don’t like community college, but the savings and easier classes were a big thing for me.
I went to a community college in high school for a college prep program and completed a semester at the school once I graduated high school. Now I attend a four year college. I have to say there is definitely a different vibe on community college campuses versus a traditional college campus. As Cruzjay4 said typically people go to class and go home. Sometimes it felt like they didn’t even want to be there at all. They would act like immature high school kids not college level adults. Of course I think it really depends on the community college. My other friends went to other community colleges and have had vastly different experiences. I actually visited the community college near my current college and the campus is way different that the one I attended. I also believe that going to community college for two years and then transferring to a four year college is a great idea. You get general courses under your belt and then most community colleges have transfer programs to help you get into four year schools.
I would look into the school’s website and see what is offered. Sometimes you actually have to be on the campus to see what events and club meetings are going on. They are there but may be hard to find. Best of luck!
