I was curious if relocated Yankee had the scholarship link, since I suspected that those stats might earn the academic excellence award.
My daughter was accepted into Storrs. Congratulations to all who were accepted.
My decision was uploaded last night on my portal. I got accepted to the Storrs Campus for engineering
No change in d’s portal… any idea if that’s a bad sign? Or just waiting to be updated?
Congrats everyone who received good news. For those wondering about scholarhips and honors program, I received my honors notification with scholarship info the Wednesday via mail after the admission results came out. If you are receiving a merit scholarship you should have that “scholarship disclosure/acceptance” link on your student center now though.
@motortrend where exactly would you see the scholarship disclosure acceptance link?
I don’t remember exactly but it was right there on the student center by the financial aid link I think. I didn’t have to look for it. If you want to share your stats and if you are in state or OOS that would help to determine the likelihood of merit funds…
accepted to Storrs, but no scholarship link listed, so I’m assuming no honors, no merit. We’ll see when the snail mail comes.
@parentologist are you in state?
Was there an email that was sent to notify of a portal change and admission decision or did everyone’s portal just change??
When I check my application status it says “Information is pending, please check back in 24 hours” did anybody else get this message and is it good or bad news?
Made A Decision Stats Forum
in state.
Mine also says “Information is pending, please check back in 24 hours.”
@parentologist if you’re in state it’s possible that your son/daughter is in honors and that they didn’t receive a scholarship. Our experience has been that in state students received much smaller scholarships, if any. Honors program was really tough to get into. They told us on accepted students day that last year was the toughest year so far to get into honors program. Their applications are increasing each year.
@LIParent101 do you think it is possible to receive a scholarship and not be in honors?
Accepted into school of business Storrs campus as MIS major! Congrats to all who’ve been admitted and good luck to those still waiting!
I know one person who got an academic excellence scholarship, in state, yet was only accepted to a branch campus! Seemed very strange to me. I know people who had great SATs, but not great GPAs, who got honors and academic excellence, when others with better GPAs did not. Unpredictable.
@tennis83 Yes I know people who received merit and not honors. @parentologist The GPAs are so subjective and not consistent from one high school to another. The college takes the applicants’ transcript and creates their own GPA that they use for the admission process. The intended major has a lot to with the decisions too…
@LIParent101 Thanks for the info!
