I sear my daughter’s just changed tonight but now I can’t recall what it said before. Now it says:
“This application is Complete.
Please continue to check this page in the upcoming days for the latest information on the status of your application.”
I don’t recall it saying ‘upcoming days’ before.
She is an art major and applied with a portfolio.
Mine still says “Your application was completed on November 07, 2017. It is important for you to check your application status frequently. Your admission decision will be posted here when it is available.”
Someone posted here that UCONN does give earlier decisions for Art majors
Fingers crossed that she’ll get her decision tonight then! There is also now a link for her to pay her deposit. When I click on it, it actually works and brings you to a page where you can make payments!
@JerseyMom2022 that sounds extremely encouraging!! Best of luck to you My portal still says the same as @simple0920 and @hopefulcadet333. Have any DMD applicants received word as of yet??
@JerseyMom2022 Yes! Fingers crossed! He’s looking to major in chemical engineering, possibly double-majoring with another engineering field. He’s not convinced he wants to attend UConn, but his only negative is that he wants his “own” college experience and not his sister’s (graduates in May from UConn). Other than “his sister went there”, he loves the school.
If you are instate there is a possibility of being accepted to one of the branches and those links would be in the portal as well. That is what happened to my older child a few years ago. UCONN is a crapshoot even to highly qualified instate students. UCONN was first choice and was accepted to Waterbury. He went elsewhere is now going to graduate with honors and has two job offers in engineering. He went to URI with good merit offering and additional scholarships through the dept of engineering his junior and senior year. Ended up costing less than UCONN instate. That said I am in the same boat with child #2 right now waiting for UCONN decision…Good luck to all!
@YoungOne4
All that stuff appeared yesterday for us as well. I don’t think it’s any indication of acceptance or rejection, just that a decision is coming soon. I did a little digging in the old acceptance threads and it looks like your portal changes about a week before you get a decision. Historically the decisions seem to come on a Friday after 5:00 PM. But one year they were doing some upgrades to the online system and decisions weren’t posted until that Saturday afternoon. So, if history repeats itself, maybe we will get our answers Friday evening. The bulk of decisions will likely be released the last Friday in February if history proved prophetic but everyone keeps telling me that art students usually hear earlier in the month, so fingers crossed.
I was reading threads from 2014 and 2015, when UConn apparently switched from something like rolling admission to “decisions by March 1,” and in those years it seems decisions for all majors still began rolling out in the second week of Feb and lasted through the first week of Mrach. But when reading the threads for 2016 and 2017, it seemed decisions mostly began rolling out in the third week of February. So, either way, we may be seeing some results in the next couple of weeks…
@YoungOne4 Good sleuth work! I also saw a few posts with comments like ‘art students hear back earlier’, which leads me to HOPE my daughter will get a response soon. I think this is driving me crazier than it’s driving her, lol. We’re waiting for UConn, Syracuse and Mason Gross (she got into Rutgers but their art school reviews portfolios later). She’s also been accepted for visual art at University of Delaware and Temple University’s Tyler School of Art (with a generous scholarship). She loved Tyler when we visited so I don’t know why I am stressing so much. She insisted on only applying to universities, no art only schools, because she says she might change her major.
