has ANYONE heard back recently from northwestern's waitlist?

ok but then what about that article that came out saying "Northwestern accepted about 400 out of 1350 students off the waitlist this year"

the publishing of that article leads me to believe that the waitlist removal-process is over. is this true?

I heard last Friday (a week ago from today) that I was accepted off of the waitlist. I received both an email (earlier - I think on that Thursday) and then a response by mail. I didn't check my email so I actually received the decision through mail first.

I think that I made a pretty good impression with my letter to the admissions director, as he sent a thank-you/follow-up letter a week after receiving my letter emphasizing how much I wanted to go. Maybe they do this to everyone though...

I think that decisions are still being let out, but housing requests for incoming freshmen are due by June 8th, so I guess they have to notify you before then?

hopeful2007, that article had an asterisk by the number 400, saying that NU isn't finished yet with accepting people from its waitlist. There is apparently still time, but not much, obviously.

My son got off the WL on 6/11. He got a phone call as well as a FedEx. So there's still hope.

BTW - he didn't do much. Early in April he called and said he is very interested in NU. In the WL acceptance he just wrote one sentence saying Nu is is top choice school. That's it - no other communication.

well, i wrote my letter on MAY 23rd. But, it was definitely detailed and told that Northwestern was, without question, my number one choice school. I'm now wondering if that was too late. I know my SATs (1540/1600 & 2230/2400) werent too low for Northwestern and my GPA (~3.6-3.7) wasnt too too bad either. I kept my rank disclosed.

Anyways, it's now june 13th, and i havent received anything. I've also been calling like 4-5 times. Are my chances very very slim at this point?
