<p>This is good news! HS grad invites are ordered mentioning 'other' school, deposit at 'other' school has been paid. Tuition at 'other' school is affordable. Daughter getting off waitlist from NU, would be PRICELESS!!!! The candle is still lit!</p>
<p>Just to let you all know, I called admissions yesterday and asked them this exact question. The man said that they are not taking people off the waitlist right now, as they are waiting to get responses back from people who were admitted off the waitlist in the past few weeks. When I asked whether or not he thought NU would go to the waitlist again, he said he honestly didn't know. I guess there is still hope.</p>
<p>I recently declined the offer of acceptance...I also got off of the waitlist at notre dame and am going to go there, so hopefully that is one more spot for one of you!</p>

<p>I think the poster was saying that they have sent out graduation invitations which mention the back-up school, the deposit has been made to the back-up school and the back-up school is more affordable, but if the daughter gets off the wait list at NU she will change her plans and go to NU in a heartbeat.</p>

<p>Someone said NU would take a large number of waitlistees but I didnt find much on CC..and another one said the waitlist is going to be closed...

<p>I think so too. Now all we can do is wait until june 30 to know officially. But who knows!</p>
<p>Judging by the fact that Northwestern's common data set is online, I'm pretty confident that they are done with the waitlist. I'm way past being upset about it and am psyched for the college I will be attending, but I am just frustrated by how secretive and indirect they were about the waitlist and how they dealt with it in general. Also, they admitted a HUGE amount of people (471 out of 1274 on the waitlist- that's 37%!), so I'm wondering what I did wrong... My heart is not broken or anything -far from it- but it was just a kind of "I-wonder-if-I-will-get-in-after-all" type thing. I can finally stop worrying about this!</p>

<p>We have not heard anything and not sure how they will notify. Someone please do post if you hear either way. Hearing from a fairly good source that they took 100 off the wait list on the first go around. And I know for a fact that the first round had 3 weeks to respond, which has passed. The 100 seems lower than the previous years, I'm sure someone here has that number.</p>

<p>I didn't get off the waitlist by the way. But I don't care since I found a another college that I'm pretty happy with.</p>
